Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilI've described it above together with the cons
My husband & I had a very good time at this resort despite some minor problems. First, we only found out we had to pay for the parking service when we did the check-in, upon arrival. I had made the reservation through booking.com and it wasn't clear if we'd have to pay to park the rental car. For a resort of this magnitude and importance, for one to be charged U$35.00 a day to park the vehicle, not having any other option to leave the car, we felt the resort was taking advantage of this situation, besides being rather mean and stingy. After considerably complaining about it, they decided to waive the daily parking fee! Second, we didn't like the carpeted floor in the unit, as it doesn't match a beach-resort structure. Another thing that doesn't make much sense is the balcony in the unit with no light(s) at all! Thus, we couldn't enjoy this place at night the way we wanted to -there wasn't even a lamp there...Fourthly, there wasn't an espresso maker in the room, just a regular coffee maker. I'm aware this isn't an essential appliance, but once again, considering the resort itself, I did expect to find an espresso maker in the unit. Our reservation included breakfast and it was quite good. However, I suggest they include gluten-free bread, pancakes or similar food, as most of them were made of white flour - there was just one type of wholewheat bread, the one we buy at any supermarket...Nowadays, as many people are either gluten or lactose intolerant, it would be a positive aspect to offer food that cater to this group of consumers. Incidentally, when we had breakfast, we asked the host(ess) to bring us stronger coffee because the coffee they serve(d) is rather weak, but were told it wasn't included in the breakfast menu! My husband & I couldn't believe in that - to be charged more to drink a bit stronger coffee?! What kind of fancy/chic resort/hotel does that?!

AustraliaTheir service fees added to the bill were extremely high. The itemised bill included an excessive amount of extra fees that weren't explained. There was no additional food in the room, as previous luxurious hotels provide complimentary wine, snacks etc
The hotel exceeded expectations, the staff were polite and friendly. The service was exceptional. The room was very clean, and the amenities met our standards. It catered to both families and adults.

United StatesThat people save the chairs that are on the beach whether they’re using them or not and sometimes you find them all taken up and there’s no place to sit on the beach because people put towels on them that seem to not be using them Maybe they could just monitor that better
It’s a beautiful beautiful property I highly recommend it my family has been long time Hawaii residence my mom passed away and was a lover of Hapuna Beach I stayed there to have a private time to swim out and remember my mom.. Hakuna Beach is by far the best beach on Hawaii Island and the western resort is such a treat if you are able to stay there you will not be disappointed.. the food was fabulous the staff was gracious and kind the breakfast was beautiful I have no complaints can’t wait to go back

BulgariaFood was limited and not to our liking. The lighting in the room at night was miserable. The hotel offers spacious parking but a bit expensive.
The hotel is right on one of the best beaches on all of Hawaii - Hapuna Beach, which has pristine blue water and fine-grained sand. 30-40 minutes away from Kona airport and 1.5-2 hours from the volcanoes. The hotel provides snorkeling equipment free of charge.

United StatesWe loved the beach and location the pool and views. Prices for food were a bit hefty especially breakfast egg bacon we found ways to alleviate that by having pastries from the cafe. To improve something possibly need to fix the beach chairs/umbrella situation people keep them for themselves all day and walk away go eat or swim in the pools and others can’t use them.

United KingdomNothing really. The buffet breakfast feels very expensive, but there are plenty of other options which are more reasonable.
The hotel is in a beautiful location, overlooking Hapuna Beach. We watched the sunrise over the water each morning. It has great facilities; the gym is well equipped, there are complimentary laundry services for guests, ideal for those travelling long haul, an on site medical centre and great pools. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and have a large fridge which allowed us to stock up on a few items from the local shop. We also appreciated the complimentary water bottles and numerous water filling stations, which allowed us to avoid plastic bottles.

United StatesDespite the high cost to stay there, I felt "nickel and dimed" throughout our stay. Charged for parking, charged a resort fee, yoga was advertised as a perk, but it was an additional charge. Breakfast buffet was obscenely priced for very mediocre food. For close to $700 per night, the additional charges felt unnecessary.
Beautiful resort. Loved having an adult only pool as well as beach access with chairs and umbrellas. Nicely equipped fitness center.

United StatesBetter in room coffee.
Location, balcony with table for laptops made for a wonderful start each day. Even though there were many families with children, the adult pool was buffered from the sounds of children playing in the family pool, creating a beautiful sanctuary.

United StatesNothing i didnt really like. The fact that you pay a daily fee to park your car even if you choose to self park makes little sense to me. Also one of the front desk ladies was rude when i kindly ask to give me a towel she returned a rude "what?" but overall the personnel was very kind so thats an isolated person. I think great choice for people who want to stay on the beach and get rest. You need to drive a good amount to reach places of interest.
The breakfast was good i would say typical american breakfast with many options- nothing exceptional but overall very good quality. The location was amazing, right on a beautiful beach- great choice for some beach days. The ocean view room was quiet, modern, good quality. Liked that they have purified water machines on every floor. Views from the resort are beautiful.
