Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe lack plug-ins easily accessible was an issue for us. The lack of internet in our rooms was a problem. We also didn’t have any complimentary breakfast or coffee except for the room coffee, which was nice but most other places provided a more robust morning breakfast and coffee option.
Nice, clean, updated facility. Helpful staff and room is mostly well appointed.

United StatesRooms are small. WiFi only available in the lobby. No fridge in the room. The trains pass the hotel frequently starting early morning and are noisy.
Good location, close to everything. Hotel has a restaurant which was good. Beds were comfortable.

United StatesOur room on the first floor overlooked a service parking lot. The delivered materials to the hotel all the time. Restaurant supplies. Equipment and repair work for the equipment, it was all done outside our window. The employees took their breaks in groups outside our window. They ate, smoked, laughed outside our window. Sometimes they would dmtaje their breaks in the vans, again, outside our window, so they could start the engine get done AC going and listen to music.
The hotel is close to everything, making it quite walkable. This hotel looked better on the inside than it does on the outside. Even so, the rooms were pretty outdated. Once they might have been luxurious but that was long ago. The carpet was dirty. Really dirty. Oh, wait, I did not like that about it.

United StatesOnly thing I really didn't like was having a pedestal sink in the bathroom. Not sure why hotels do this (this was our 3rd straight hotel with this set up) when there is room for a cabinet because it is a pain to not have a place to put your toiletries in the bathroom.
Convenient to downtown Skagway. Room was smallish but comfortable, especially the bed. Staff was pleasant.

United StatesI could not think of anything that was not satisfactory when we stayed. We came on their last weekend they were open in September, and I would have liked to have stayed my entire time in Skagway there but had to move to another location because of their closing. I wish the website had noted that they were closing on that weekend so we would have known why we could only get one night there.
After spending 5 days driving in on the Alaskan Highway and staying in somewhat "rustic" places, Westmark Inn was like checking in to the lap of luxury. The rooms, though small, were well decorated and the beds were very comfortable! I slept so well that night. As history buffs, we liked the historic photos as the room artwork. Upon check - in the staff was very nice and was able to offer much needed advice on where to eat, how long the walk to the train station in the morning would be and how to go, and where we could do laundry.

CanadaRoom smelled stale like an old building - which it is. In fact the smell was similar to the old trappers cabin in a museum. I was disappointed in the lack of wifi in the rooms. Just in the lobby and restaurant. The television is mediocre so I just watched tv on my phone in my room for privacy - not interested in sitting in a public place akin to waiting for a flight. Was strange to have a real key but I guess it ads to the charm. Disappointed that I arrived at 1200 and couldn’t check into my room til after 3pm - I know that’s the new norm - checkout was at 1030 I left early and the cleaning staff was ready to move in -

CanadaThe service at breakfast (Extra $$) was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Took a long time to even get a coffee. Server seemed preoccupied with other things. The cost of said breakfast was a bit high, in my opinion. No air conditioning in our room. Was quite warm on arrival. AC is an asset these days, or at least open a window for your guests prior to their arrival.
Nice inn that has just changed names/ownership to the Holland-America Skagway Inn. Great location, just two blocks from the White Pass & Yukon Route train depot. Also, close to everything downtown. Beds very comfortable. Shower/bathroom very good and clean. Nice restaurant/bar on site. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Room rate not bad considering this is a tourist destination.
