The hotel has a ground floor and nine floors where there are the hotel rooms. There are 20 different areas for WiFi in the hotel - ten in the areas near the lift and ten in the areas not so close to the lift - and that is a nuisance when you move from one floor to another if you are visiting relatives or friends because you need a new code if you leave the limited area where you are originally connected. To provide a crazy example, I was in room 901 on the ninth floor but could not use the WiFi code for the ninth floor but the one for the ninth floor lift but that ninth floor lift code did not work inside the lift. My room was noisy because it was next to the lift. Breakfast plates were tiny, like coffee saucers.

The room was big and the bed was comfortable, there was a useful writing desk. Breakfast was very good, there was a wide choice of cakes, fruit, vegetables, cheese and cold meats. Location was good in the downtown area of Montevideo. Even though Colonia Street got empty at night, you just needed to walk a few metres to find crowded streets and squares that were safe all night long. Value was very good at a cost of about 50 Euros per night including breakfast. The all-female reception and breakfast staff members were efficient and formal.

Hotel could be cleaner with better bathrooms, appliances are worn out and old. Beds are to small even for me. People taller than 180cm will have bad time with the short beds.

Sonia , she it's in floor 9, was So Nice & Friendly , allways There TO Help ,me They made my stay , easy & happy under the circumstances. Bathroom. Everytine you open the door, it smacks against the toilet. The shower wall was half so the water was everywhere

The buffet breakfast invloves you queuing. When its your turn to be served you ask an hotel staff member for items from the buffet rather than help yourself.

Staff for the most part felt like they were taking care of business. Breakfast was ok, but little real food, a lot of pastries, yogurt and coffee were good. The first room we were in, right by the elevator - I thought construction was going on - but the elevators are very old and actually were so noisy that the floors shook. Staff was very kind and moved us to another room. In this room the air conditioner was very old, and the bathroom smelt like sewer water. We had to keep the door closed - and no vent in the bathroom at all.

We at least felt safe. Great shower.

The pictures of the hotel did not represent the reality. The room was dingy and smelly. The sheets were not changed in the 4 days and the towels were thin rags.

The breakfast had a good selection but too many sweets and pastries. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We truly should've read the reviews prior to booking... In the evening, the surroundings of the hotel were sketchy, including what appeared to be homeless individuals hanging around and idling in front of barricaded storefronts. Although there is plenty of visual advertisement of food and beverage options beyond breakfast, all were offered from outside, third-party vendors (a.k.a. not in-house) and were delivery-based. This is not super convenient for travelers who arrive late. The bidet was dirty (upon our late arrival-- around 9:00 pm) and had evidence of the previous occupants' use. (Yuck!) The cold water handle in the shower was broken and was a struggle to activate. One of the twin beds had two pillows while the other had only one. We expected this to be remedied during Housekeeping service the following day but it wasn't. Lastly, the only window in the room was equipped with a manually-operated, high-security drop-down barricade-- which added to the sense of low security especially during the evening. (To clarify: We did not complain about these matters to the staff mainly because we were there for only two nights and, again, we struggled with our lack of Spanish. They may have been able to rectify but we did not give them the opportunity to do so. I just wanted to be clear about this. However, I believe that these items should be very obvious to them.)

The hotel is located a mere two blocks from the one of the main arteries in the city so food and beverage options were plenty during the daytime and early evening. Most sightseeing locations including the oceanside boardwalk are an easy walk. Apart from the rate, this was the main reason for booking selection. The Front Desk and Breakfast Service staff were friendly, although English-speaking personnel was non-existent. Not necessarily a deal-breaker but it made for some struggled conversations for non-Spanish speaking travelers like us. :-) The A/C worked quite well and the breakfast was good.
