5/5 – Exceptional stay and even better hospitality! We had a wonderful experience at Rustic House in Cat Ba. The rooms were spotless with excellent water pressure in the showers, and the location is just a 6–7 minute walk from the main town—close enough to everything but still peaceful. What truly stood out was the incredible hospitality. Huong, the owner, went above and beyond—not only during our stay but even after we checked out. When a cyclone disrupted ferry services and we were stuck on the island for an extra night, she continued to help us coordinate our onward travel and kept checking in on us. Breakfast and coffee were simple yet hearty—just the right start for our days of exploring. The team also arranged our Lan Ha Bay tour, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Cat Ba—clean rooms, warm hosts, and genuine care for their guests!

The rooms were clean and the location was great. It was near by everything and the staff were so lovely. They have a small cafe downstairs where they have good coffee and breakfast. I highly recommend this property

Absolutely brilliant little independent hotel Rooms exactly as they seem on the website. Rooms were very large, very clean and the bathrooms were great Beautiful little coffee shop on the ground floor Owners were really really helpful It’s walking distance to the centre but still quiet. Absolutely perfect location and hotel.

Everything was perfect ( clean, good amenities and nice location) and the hotel have a family vibe wich we loved me and my husband. We also took breakfast 2 times in their coffee and it was delicious, especially the egg Sandwich and Coconut Coffee. A big plus was that they took care of our Bus trips for us with a very good buses and also the Lan ha bay Cruise they bookes for us which turned out to be Excellent.

Cozy and comfortable well-maintained rooms, just like the photos. You can have great breakfast with delicious coffee in their coffee shop downstairs. The owners are warm and welcoming, and started communication via WhatsApp even before we arrived. They helped me book transfers and tours effortlessly, making my trip smooth and stress-free. They accomodated my special requests, and everything was arranged perfectly.

Very peaceful hotel, after testing 4 vietnamese hotels this one is my favorite. It is exactly as shown on the pictures. It is clean and the bathroom is great as the shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom. The staff was also very nice. The food is great and the rooftop is very pleasant. From the hotel we can see the huge construction site but we're quite far from it so it's not a problem. The location is very nice. There are bikes that we can take for free to visit the town (but not the island as there are steep slopes). The bikes all have something malfunctioning but they are free so it's totally acceptable.

Our favourite little bonus of this place was the cafe downstairs, which served the most amazing drinks and was a lovely space to relax in. All of the staff, behind reception, in the cafe space, were also really friendly and very patient with our attempts to speak any Vietnamese 😄

The only problem was the room we stayed in was damp. We opened the window as solution.

We were very pleased to stay here. Since it was difficult for us to get to the island due to Tet holiday, the hotel arranged our transportation to the island. The hotel has a cute cafe and nice skybar with good coffee and breakfast options. The hotel staff Nguyen and Anh were very friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable room with great view. The staff was very helpful and assisted with everything we needed. Booked boat tour with them and it was great! Every morning we had great breakfast for very good price. Also they make perfect tea and coffee drinks!
