Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandNothing.
I was working in Port Vila and staying at Mangoes was absolutely perfect for this. It was a very nice hotel and the staff were outstanding. I would definitely stay here on return visit.

AustraliaIt’s difficult to find a swimming beach nearby. But you can catch a bus and a boat to Iririki Island, get a day pass and do some snorkeling.
Beautiful atmosphere. Restaurant is great. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

AustraliaThere isn’t a lot in immediate vicinity by way of other shops or restaurants but it isn’t far in a taxi / bus to town and most tours pick up at resort.
Great food, friendly staff, decent size rooms and a well maintained property with several pools including a private one with lagoon view villa. I also enjoyed a blissful massage, the free room service and yum cocktails.

AustraliaHad a couple of insects sneak through the gap in the door + plus it was like 20-30 min to walk to the Main Street so if you don’t wanna eat at the hotel then you should have a car
Many different pools and facilities for the terrace apartments also available to mangoes guests, big plus

New ZealandWhile dinner menu was nice there was no burger on offer. Meals were expensive. Used the bus as taxi prices were to high.
Easy walk to town over the hill. Convenience stores only 5 minutes away. Numerous swimming pools and the grounds were well maintained.

AustraliaIt's a little bit up out of the city and sometimes it is challenging to get taxis. Rooms were ok but it wasn't the best place we stayed in on Efate, they were a bit run down. From what I could understand some of this attributed to the earthquake though but unsure about the smoke smell in the rooms.
Most of the staff were friendly, and it was nice to have our own space. Our first room smelled like cigarettes but the staff were kind enough to move us to a different room. The view was really lovely.

AustraliaMaybe an upgrade is due in the near future as it looks a little outdated but otherwise for the price, it's a great place to stay.
On arrival, I was welcomed with ice tea, which was so refreshing in the humid heat! The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and did their utmost to make sure my needs were met during my short stay. They shared helpful tips and local excursions I could book. The food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My bungalow had an amazing view, and the private pool is a must do! I had a great time there and would definitely return.

AustraliaWe booked an apartment with private pool, the pool was missing 5-6 tiles and along the back of the pool had a bad smell. The mangoes app we were told to download wasn’t much help. The prices for drinks via the app did not match the menus in the restaurant. Costs for food and drink changed throughout our stay. The option to call the restaurant via app did not work at all so room service was non existent (which no one told us about we were told on arrival by receptionist to use the app) Besides the chef, Thomas and 1 of 2 waitresses, the rest of the staff weren’t very friendly. When we first arrived the customer service was very up and down and some of the staff members would just stare. Not even a smile. This did change after a few nights there. Prices of taxi fares booked through mangoes are also extremely overpriced but we found inconsistencies in taxi fares all over the island.
A hand full of very helpful and lovely staff members The chef and Thomas always greeted us with a smile.

United KingdomThey didn't make up the room on one of the days and the shower was cold one morning. It was a bit far to walk anywhere.
I had 3 pools which was great, although we only found the 3rd one on the last day! The room was very spacious and comfortable. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both were very good.

AustraliaNeed new doors, hard to fit into (with only half door opening - can open other side but a pain). Still need to pay extra for breakfast (only covers a light breakfast). While can get taxi's, without own transportation, getting buses is a bit more problematic in this location - not much in walking distance.
Fantastic hotel, with three awesome pools, stunning views of the lagoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Big spacious room and lovely bathroom -fans and air-con, depending on preference. High quality free Wi-Fi.

United StatesThe "private" pool was a huge let down as it's visible to anyone walking by. It's honestly very silly. The hotel was a ghost town - we barely saw any other guests. The staff were not very helpful & the manager was fairly rude most of the time. It was very awkward. The room had ants and bugs (but I guess that's to be expected in a tropical location). The location isn't near anything really within walking distance (except there's a grocery store a 20 min walk away).
We stayed in a Garden View Pool Apartment. The room was huge and had a kitchen that we used to cook breakfast and dinner. The gym wasn't big but it got the job done. There were plenty of lounges to lay on by any of the many pools. The massages were incredible! Definitely get one while staying here.

AustraliaIt’s becoming run down and they charge you for air conditioning which makes you feel very cheated as Vanuatu has a very hot climate and air conditioning should be a standard for travellers. Also the amount of breakfast food was very stingy. Not sure if that is due to food shortages from the earthquake but it would have been nice if this was explained.
It was very beautiful and Adults only.

ThailandSo I get into the room, sweating like a pig, only to be told that if I want the AC on, it’s an extra 1,500 Vatu per night. I’ve literally never had that before. Who in their right mind thinks that this is justifiable? Secondly, their “breakfast” includes only “light” options (müseli, toast or a fruit salad). They also included “juice and tea or coffee” according to the menu. For some reason though, I was charged an extra 450 vatu for a pot of tea on my last day. I was quite annoyed at this. If I had known this, I would just had the provided tea in my room. The 1,500 vatu charge for air conditioning is enough to keep me from returning. Never ever have I heard of this before.
Very well maintained property, very few signs of age showing, grounds were very well kept. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the value of the food was worth the higher price tag. Room was fairly comfortable and well equipped minus a hairdryer. Fast WiFi (good enough for zoom calls) HOWEVER (check negatives section)
