Unfortunately they had to switch us from our room before we arrived. The „upgrade“ was the honeymoon suite. While traveling we only book accommodations with a kitchen, because we always are selfcatering. The room we booked had a kitchen and the new room only had a mini fridge and a microwave. So that was a downgrade for us. We received a mail shortly before arriving about the „upgrade“. Would we have know ahead, we would have tried to cancel. The bed sheets where a bit dirty. And there was an old smell in the room. The room was very dark, even during the day.

The lodge was gated and had really nice seating areas. While load shedding you still could use everything except the AC. The host was really nice and gave us a lot of information for the area and even for our next destination. The room had a huge bathroom. The AC was good.

The ineffective air-conditioning and insufficient cooling from the ceiling fan made it uncomfortable during the night. One of the wall socket plugs didn’t work, but the owner quickly provided us with an extension cord to sort out the issue. The shower is very mouldy inside and one of the pillows had a stain. These minor inconveniences didn’t overshadow the overall positive experience, but they were notable aspects that could be improved upon for future guests’ comfort.

My stay at Amazulu Guesthouse and Safaris was delightful. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. The refreshing pool and comfortable beds provided a perfect retreat after a day of adventure, and the self-catering option added convenience to my stay.

A suggestion to future travellers- bring bug spray as the mosquitos come out at night. Otherwise we had a great stay.

Our Host offered us the deluxe family room instead of the chalet. The Family room had the most divine outside area , where we relaxed and ate all our meals. We also had access to the pool which was great as Hluhluwe can get very hot especially after a long day in the park. Close to Hluhluwe Game Reserve - will definately be back.

Lovely well decorated family room. Very comfortable beds. Lots of little touches to make stay comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Great recommendation to try Ngweni Railroad Brewery & Cafe for dinner.

Next time I want to stay at Honey moon suite and we are more than 4 we would like to stay at the 6 sleeper

The environment is good and beautiful it is also next to shops and all the beautiful places you want to see We enjoyed a lot

We didn’t like that the unit had just 1 toilet / shower which was in the master bedroom . Also the bathroom door is a folding slide door .

Spacious and private. We stayed in the Deluxe Family Unit . It was cold so we did use the pool or barbecue facilities. Good position to visit the nearby attractions like the game parks . Power supply to lights and plugs are not affected by loadshedding.

The beds were very hard (which I am very picky about) and somehow we didn’t have internet in two of our three rooms. They did try to fix that, but it didn’t work.

We had everything we needed in our rooms and there was space to play outside. Easy check in and check out. Friendly staff.

The lighting in the room was not very good but it was not a train smash either.

The place is in a calm area no noise, it is perfect for relaxation, we had privacy. The host was a lovely lady made sure all our needs were met. I would definitely visit again.
