Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThere was a power outage that occurred the first night of our stay and then again the morning of our departure day, which affected the trailer we were in and the one above but we made the most of it. The kids' entertainment was a bit of a letdown as they ran out of marshmallows to toast over the fire at the beach, and the movie night was not as planned, kids ended up watching programs on YouTube in the playroom instead. Could do better...
The beautiful hot showers and friendly staff. The food was absolutely lovely. The trailer was neat and clean. The views were spectacular. Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping was a bonus, nature at its best. Would definitely go back...

South AfricaThe lounge area is very basic. So mot very homely. But I thought I was going into just a caravan , so the extra Soave is a welcome addition. The restaurant area and lounge area are great. Lovely pool area (if you go in summer) food was excellent. Staff were excellent
It’s very unique. The themed caravans are fun. You have all the comforts and space. Very clean with lovely bedding .

South AfricaThere was a group who was little noisy on the first night but was not a major problem.
It was cold and wet but the fire places were always on and we really enjoyed the food and hospitality. Had some really nice chats with the manager who was really kind and helpful. All the staff were great.

South AfricaI was a little disappointed in that I arranged and confirmed twice for some sort of a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. I had imagined something like a balloon or cupcake or something at the accommodation when we got to the suite, but there was nothing.
The layout reminds me of dirty dancing! Something for everyone,. The food was spectacular, the staff extremely friendly and willing to go out of their way for you. The ambience is magical, we will definitely be back.

South AfricaWe weren't given a number we can call or whatsapp for any issues. As we were staying on the far end, this would have been really helpful. For example, we were given fire lighters (nice), but no matches. We then had to drive up to the top to get this sorted, which is inconvenient. We had some maintenance issues in our unit, but nothing major. Again, could have been sorted pretty easily if we had a whatsapp number or similar.
Love the communal social design of the place. There are several places where people can gather and enjoy the facilities, including the main restaurant area and the 'beach' area on the small lake. The restaurant area is loaded with all kinds of seating place, both formal and informal, and a beautiful pool with enough loungers. It is really set out nicely for social vibes. The beach area has kayaks, floater tubes and a bar...really well though out. Staff are super friendly, and the food and alcohol options are good. Wood fires hot tubs at the tiny home we stayed in was AMAZING. Bonus is the wood supply for this at no additional cost.

South AfricaOur tiny house, Kaapse Nooi, was the only unit that didn't have a screen for privacy from surrounding units. Especially around the hot tub being in direct view of the communal hall to its right.
Stunning location with incredibly helpful staff. Our tiny house in the new Klein Paradys was beautifully decorated with an amazing hot tub feature. Overall, we loved our stay!

South AfricaIt would be great if the airstreams had shower facilities instead of a tub as the shower connection to the tub doesn’t work well and very low pressure.
The place was tranquil and allows you to reconnect with nature. I love the idea of the social box at the restaurant which really allows you to focus and be present. There is so much to do in and around the property. The staff are amazing and friendly. Really a peaceful and fun experience.

South AfricaSadly, there was a lack of milk alternatives and gluten free options for those who are lactose or gluten intolerant. Other than that, I have no complaints about Old Mac Daddy.
I have often driven past the turnoff and wondered what it was like to stay here. Now I know (thanks to my wife :) ), we will definitely make this a return destination. We stayed one of the Tiny houses, and it was absolutely brilliant. Well designed, well appointed and comfortable. The addition of the wood-burning hot tub is an absolute bonus. The restaurant, while not the cheapest is still really good value for money as the food was top notch, and would, in my opinion, be easily placed in 4 or 5 star restaurants. The included breakfast would easily cater for most people. The staff are friendly and helpful, and at no point did I feel that they weren't willing to go the "extra mile" to make your staff enjoyable

South AfricaThe mozzies on night 1. The unusally humid weather brought them out in droves and we suffered. We went in better prepared on night 2.
We loved how engaged all the staff and management were, in particular Denver. All the activities for the kids and the fact that they did extras like free ice lollies, popcorn, roasting marshmallows, pizza making etc. These did not go unnoticed. We were at Daddy's Hideaway and they warn you on the website that you need a 4x4 or SUV to get there and they are not joking - thanks for the heads up:-). There is one turn in particular to keep an eye out for.
