We do not normally book rooms with shared bathrooms and hadn't realised that this was the situation when we arrived so were a bit apprehensive as we had a bad experience in the past when we were walking the West Highland Way. However the shared facilities were spotlessly clean and easily accessible and with two bathrooms always available so overall did not detract from our stay and the shower was good with plenty hot water. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and there was a large common kitchen and sitting room for the use of guests

So this gets an 8 even though it met all my needs, only because my 10s go to exceptional, above average places. Need was comfortable, bathroom was great, but the room was small. However, I didn't hang out on the room, only slept there, so for me, it was fine. There are a couple good restaurants within 10 min walk and some little markets if you need some water or beer or snacks. The staff spoke good English and gave me all kinds of tips and suggestions on what to see and when. I also liked the private parking.

The room was very stylish and spacious with a private external terrace with outdoor furniture. The bathroom configuration was great with his and hers handbasins fabulous tiling... all very new. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Great indoor pool restaurant and breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To see Vista Alegre porcelain everywhere was a bonus. The free tour of the museum and access to view the handpainting staff at work was special.
