Ryokans in Tokyo

The check-in time is generally until 10 PM, but due to my flight delay, I informed the host in advance that I might arrive around 10:30 PM. The host was very considerate and waited for my arrival. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the subway station, and stepping out from the quiet alley, you will reach a bustling main street. The alley is very quiet (thanks to the respect for silence in Japanese culture). My room was right by the alley, and I often kept the window open without feeling unsafe. I stayed 6 nights here and slept well every night (honestly, better than I do at home). The room is compact and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. Considering the price, this hotel offers great value, as in central Tokyo, you’d typically only find capsule hotels at this rate.

The family owners are very accomodating, and nice and welcoming. Our forwarded luggage were already in our room when we arrived. They also have provisions when you’re checking in late. It’s very near Ueno park and Skyliner terminal to/from Narita Airport. And also a short distance to many restaurant choices and sight seeing. Its a quiet neighborhood.

Superb location in a very cozy neighborhood, kind and helpful staff, overall a super comfortable stay and we were sad to leave it! Can definitely see myself returning here. Also loved the lighting (can control brightness, warmth).

It was super lovely! The facility is good. The house is cute and clean. Everything was new and stylish! The bed was sooo comfortable as well! Highly recommend for a group of 6 people for a comfy stay. I would definitely return here again

I liked the location. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Enjoyed having drinks at Hoppy Street and strolling along the Sumida River Walk.

Hotel is about 10 minutes from Ikebukuro Station. The room was as I expected … spartan is the best name … big enough for two persons and without beds. Room was cleaned every day (including towels change). Also we used washing machine in hotel without any issues.

A beautiful ryokan, with very good breakfast (both Japanese and Western) and friendly staff. Shower was very clean, although there was only one on the floor, we never had to wait. Area is very quiet, with good connection by subway. Would definitley recommend to stay here!

Location was perfect - a short walk to the station and right in the middle of the Asakusa tourist district. Heaps of food and shopping options right out your front door. The host was super friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were very comfortable and quite spacious - the futons were very comfy too! One of our rooms even had a stunning view of the tower! Would definitely stay again.

I had a fabulous stay, the owner was so nice and made the experience so wonderful. The rooms are clean and are cleaned daily. Toilets/showers are also kept clean. The showers had strong water pressure. WiFi was really fast. Location is good with a 10 min walk to the train station. I enjoyed the Japanese experience of sleeping in Ryokan. The owner gave many recommendations for Tokyo and also where is the best place for souvenirs rather than touristic locations which I wouldn't have discovered without the local knowledge so I am really thankful for that.
