The place is in the middle of the onsen area which is a very nice neighborhood, some restaurants around, and its right opposite to a traditional and special onsen where some discount applies! also only a few minutes walk from the public bath house. Parking available 50m away, the house has two spots. I definitely recommend staying here!!

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking ryokan has a hot spring bath. We had the most wonderful stay at Assi. The host is so warm, welcoming, and generous. Even though she couldn't speak much English and we can't speak much Japanese communication was no problem due to her willingness to use a translation app. We stayed in room 1 which is a Japanese-style room with futons. It was so spacious and had everything we needed and more - a kettle and fridge, sofa, even a massage chair (which was heavenly after walking all day) and our own private patio looking our over the beautiful garden. The breakfast was outstanding, prepared with so much care. There is also coffee, tea and snacks in the kitchen, which was very much appreciated. Bathroom facilities are shared but were clean and tidy and all toiletries - even skincare - was provided. We also enjoyed the private onsen. Staying at Assi feels like you're a guest in someone's home in the best possible way.
