They also drove us to the Adachi Museum.

Everything was so chic and modern in a traditional area. It’s this new wave of Japanese accommodation that is very impressive. It’s a little pricey, but absolutely worth every cent in my opinion.

Having been to Izumo before and knowing it would not disappoint, I decided to take my family for another vacation in January. We stayed at Nipponia Izumo - Hirata Cotton Road for three nights. It is a former traditional sake brewery house converted into a kominka style hotel. Situated on a quiet historical sake and soy sauce business street, the hotel not only provided a unique home sweet home service but also amazing fine dining experience. Their in-house chef made each meal using local products to create feasts that delighted the senses. I highly recommend this hidden gem of an accommodation if you do visit Izumo.

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Exactly what we hoped for from our stay in Shimane. A welcoming inn in an interesting building in a great location. Friendly staff, exceptional food and a comfortable Japanese home.

Ryokan Koyokan tem jardim, quartos para pessoas com alergias e Wi-Fi grátis em Yasugi. Mizuki Shigeru Road fica a 27 km de distância. A truly beautiful place to stay. The food was beyond anything that we had hoped for. The owners were very lovely and helpful. You are so close to the amazing temple that you can explore it with no one else around

Hoshi Ryokan oferece quartos com ar-condicionado e banheiro compartilhado em Tsuwano. Santuário Taikodani Inari fica a 1,2 km de distância e Tsuwano Joushi fica a 1,9 km. Hoshi Ryokan is so good that staying there justifies the trip to Tsuwano all by itself. An immense tatami room (actually two, a bedroom and a sitting room) plus a veranda to sit and watch the world go by. The owners are extremely gentle and helpful (they picked us up from the station even if it is only just across the road, just because it was raining so hard) and the breakfast and dinner are well worth having, and not only because there are few other options in town. And you stay in a real family home, the way B&B used to be.

Saginoyusou fornece quartos em Yasugi. Lago Shinji fica a 24 km de distância e Museu Memorial de Lafcadio Hearn fica a 27 km. My first 10 rating. Our room was fantastic, with a large sitting area, separate sleeping area with comfortable beds and private outdoor onsen. Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and polite. Our meals were excellent and very filling. Each large window in our room looked out on different areas of an impeccably designed garden. We are already planning our next visit.

Com Wi-Fi gratuito em toda a propriedade, a Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su oferece acomodações em Matsue, a poucos passos de Tamatsukuri Onsen. Great little onsen ryokan. Very nice lounge and they provide yukatas. Staff was exceptional, there was an elderly man who was manning the counter at night and he does samisen and Japanese folk performances every now and then. Was blessed to have witnessed a short performance by him. Would definitely recommend. Hots springs were excellent. Not too hot and perfect to soak in after a long day. Stayed in the super single room which was basically just a bed and some space. Was perfect as I didn't carry much luggage, but for those who have large trolley bags this is not the room for you.
