Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. The hostel offers hot-spring baths, free Wi-Fi and 3 lounges.

The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. Staying in a traditional ryokan house was an unforgettable experience that I recommend to anyone traveling in Japan. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and their fluent English was a pleasant bonus. We tried the local onsen, which was a wonderful experience. The accommodation is simple, as expected from the traditional style, and all the amenities were completely sufficient. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. I highly recommend it and thank you for a fantastic stay!

The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units offering a desk, a coffee machine, a fridge, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV, a terrace and a private bathroom with a hot tub. Each unit has a kettle, while some rooms include a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave. At the ryokan, units are equipped with bed linen and towels. We will be back! WOW. This was a shot in the dark booking since I couldn’t find a place near the beach that was tattoo friendly. We were blown away at the facility, amenities and overall beauty of the location. I booked 3 rooms. Everyone had their own private onsen bath. My husband and I upgraded to the sauna barrel room and we LOVED IT. The guys all did sauna in the morning. They even give you handmade authentic sauna hats. Breakfast was simple but filling. Half of the group did the Japanese style, half did American. My jumbo toast made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie having breakfast. There is a vending machine in the breakfast area was a variety of snacks and drinks. Our van made it on the roads to the property. So a standard vehicle will have no issue. Beautiful creak flowing in the backyard of every room. Every room has an entrance, toilet & sink room, living room (doubles as bedroom bc you have tatami beds), vanity sink & rack, THEN sliding door to your shower & bath, THEN sliding door to your porch with seating. Our room had the barrel immediately to the left of the porch with ANOTHER outdoor tub. Price was excellent!!

The units come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a fridge, a coffee machine, a bidet, bathrobes and a wardrobe. Featuring a private bathroom with a bath and slippers, units at the ryokan also have free WiFi, while some rooms come with a patio. At the ryokan, the units come with bed linen and towels.

A bar can be found on-site. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. This was our first Japanese Ryokan /Onsen experience, and what an experience it was. The moment you arrive you feel extremely well looked after. The rooms are beautiful, each having a different aspect/perspective of the traditional courtyard gardens & each with their own Onsen . Little extra touches like a hand made flower arrangement for you to enjoy were a welcome surprise. With the property situated on the outer edge of the town it's a short walk (5-10mins) that takes you into the extremely picturesque town/village. This walk is actually a benefit as it gives a chance to see all of the town, which you may miss if staying central. We weren't sure what a breakfast in a Japanese Ryokan would entail. My advice is make sure you are hungry as you won't want to miss this! Staying at this property honestly provided one of the best experiences we've had while visiting Japan. We feel extremely privileged to have been able to create some great memories and share some time together as a couple here.
