Built around two medieval settlements with the Upper Town (Gornji Grad) being its core, the city skilfully combines modern attractions with well-established favourites. Lots of museums to visit. Wide variety of bars and restaurants. Airport a little far away and taxi drivers seem to charge a lot…..double the prices of an Uber.
Upper town is hilly, although there are buses and a funicular.
Lots of places to visit outside of zagreb, inc neighbouring countries
Pedestrian area in the centre can make it difficult for people with lots of luggage.

I was travelling alone and felt very safe moving around both during the day and in the evening out for dinner at local restaurants. The people speak many languages and English is spoken by most locals.
The food offerings are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The weather is changeable, so prepare for all seasons when out for the day!
Recommend Boban restaurant in the city centre.

The downtown was not as tidy as I would expect it to be—a lot of run-down houses. Croats are smoking everywhere outdoors and also indoors, I had a terrible time In public places where everyone had a smoke while I was just trying to have a meal or drink.

We all felt very safe in Zagreb, everybody was so kind.
We all felt very safe in Zagreb, everybody was so kind. Food was amazing. The trams were great and easy to hop on and off.
We visited the Lotrscak Tower one lunchtime and my god…..would recommend, it was brilliant. The museum of Broken Relationships was so interesting and so much to take away from this.
Our taxi driver back to the airport told us of the difficulties and sadness after the earthquake, the city is rising again and we loved it.
We stayed 3 nights at the hotel for a conference. Our room was simply gorgeous, at the 18th floor with a panoramic view and a bathtub next to our bed by the window. The bed was super comfortable and there were fresh towels and the room was perfectly clean every day. Personnel is friendly and accommodating. Some nice places to eat and have drinks nearby and the city centre is reachable. The pool on the rooftop was just the cherry on top. We really were impressed, complete value for money. Thank you!
Everything was very comfortable, hotel is located next to the central bus station, 3 minites from tram stop. You can get by the tram 6 to city centre (approximately it takes max 15 minutes). The staff can call for a taxi, to the airport in gets in 18-20 min. The breakfast is included, it is a full continental breakfast. Also for smokers it is possible to smoke at the terrace in you room with a city-view. Rooms are heated so it is comfortable in the cold season to stay there.
Location is great: just a minute walk from the city centre. Breakfast is good. Great to have a kettle in the room. Powerful shower, too. It is a nice boutique hotel, and I was absolutely fine with 'no lift' and 'no parking' - it is a good idea for the hotel to send an email to warn their guests, even though all this is mentioned in the hotel description (not everyone reads the "small print" on Booking!).
Great location. Basement room was spacious, clean and well equipped. I chose the hotel because it's just opposite the main bus terminal. I had to catch the airport bus very early the next morning. The lady at the check in desk was friendly. By taking several of the tram lines which stop there you can get very fast to the main train station or the main public square.
The stay at Hotel Internacional was very pleasant. The rooms are extremely clean, the furniture is new, the staff is friendly and smiling. The selection of food for breakfast is excellent. I especially liked the fact that we were greeted in the room with cookies, coffee, tea and water. The distance from the city center is a 20-minute walk.
I recommend this hotel.
Best hotel in Zagreb. Price was very reasonable. Perfect location in downtown Zagreb. Hotel staff were very friendly and responsive to our every request. Room was large and comfortable. Bath room and room were very clean. Artwork and design were interesting and modern. This is definitely the place to stay while in Zagreb.
The hotelier is an amazing woman who has created an oasis in the city. The room #5 was comfortable, beautiful, and quiet. The continental breakfast was more than enough and delicious. The location is in the midsts of everything. If you are contemplating a visit and looking at other places....STOP right now and book this one.
Nice hotel. includes delicious breakfast. Clean and tidy. within 10 minutes walking distance of city center. Rooms have balconies and cold AC 🥶 😁service is friendly when housekeeping is present in morning hours and always available via telephone. Karla was wonderful. Thank you for the pleasant stay 😊
The location of the hotel is great, right in the city center of Zagreb.
The hotel does not have an elevator, but the staff is very nice and helpful ,they helped us with the luggage.
Good breakfast.
The hotel has an arrangement with a Taxi company with a fixed and low price to and from Zagreb airport.
Easy to find. Great parking not too close together. Room was big, we asked for extra pillow and teabag. Nothing was a bother. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best I have had in hotels in Croatia. The staff are fantastic. So helpful. Will be our hotel to stay in Zagreb from now on. 10/10
Everything!
Amazing new hotel right in the city center, with incredible attention to details and exquisite design. I felt sad having to leave but will definitely come back again.
The restaurant was great, breakfast one of the best i’ve ever had!

the hotel is very close to the city center, nice and very clean, not far from the Chabad Jewish center which was awesome, Katarina and Demian were so helpful with information about the National parks city’s and Taxis, one of the best service I’ve experienced in any hotel!!
Small boutique hotel with friendly staff.
A decent and tasty breakfast.
Situated on a very good location close to all the city center attractions!
Underground parking garage 2 blocks away (free street parking on Saturday after 15 Hr and on Sundays, see picture).
Business small hotel with nicely decorated and comfy rooms almost across the Bus station. Good connection with the city center by tram but not within reasonable walking distance. Staff helpful and kind. Perfect for business travelers.
Very very spacious room with a BIG (shared) balcony in a brand new hotel. Comfortable bathroom and enough power plugs to recharge all your things at once. :) Tram stop in front of the hotel is very convenient to reach the city center.
We loved the room: it was clean and tidy, very cosy, pretty furniture...
Breakfast was wonderful and it has a great variety.
The staff were so nice, and all the facilities were excelent.
: ) Best hotel!
The hotel is conveniently located, about 20 minutes both from the airport and the city center, in a quiet area. The room was large and clean. In fact, the entire hotel felt that way.
