Amazing Honeymoon Experience: The hotel upgraded our room to an ocean view since they knew we were on our honeymoon, which was a wonderful surprise.
Stunning Sunset Views from the Room: The sunset from our room was absolutely perfect, making it one of the best parts of our stay. We didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else to watch it.
Beautiful Pool: The pool is large and perfect for swimming, especially in the afternoon when it catches the sunlight. The pool area was one of our favorite spots.
Very Comfortable Room: The room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with a great bed and a lovely bathroom. The shower was fantastic, making it a relaxing experience overall.
Quick and Polite Service: The room service was quick, and the staff were always very polite and helpful.
Great Location: The hotel is close to the old town, and we could easily walk there, which was very convenient for exploring.

The walled town of Alghero on Sardinia’s west coast has an altogether more down-to-earth vibe than the more exclusive Emerald Coast on the opposite side of the island. In fact, it feels more Catalan than Italian.
The seafront walls and defensive towers surrounding the historic centre were actually built by the Catalans in the 16th century, and many residents still speak a dialect from that era. However, Sardinia has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the Nuraghe di Palmavera stone dwellings outside the town are evidence of this. Another nuraghic site is Anghelu Ruju, near Alghero Fertilia Airport.
South of the airport is sandy Maria Pia Beach which continues all the way to Alghero harbour and is lined with beachfront hotels, bars and restaurants offering tasty seafood, including local lobster. Boat trips leave the harbour to Neptune’s Grotto along the coast. Next door is Nereo Cave, supposedly the largest Mediterranean sea cave and a popular diving spot.
Also worth visiting are the pedestrian streets of the old town, packed with shops and pavement cafés. Also here are 16th-century Palazzo d’Albis and the cathedral with its mixed architectural styles.
The Alghero accommodation on Booking.com includes 5-star hotels with pools, cheap B&Bs and apartments with parking.

I first visited Alghero back in 2001 and have not ceased to think about it since. This time I came with my little son and my teenage nephew. For little kids, the beaches are just awesome, because they are very gradual, in Maria Pia beach, you have the wonderful pine groves etc. At the same time the city itself is very beautiful, picturesque and romantic. It offers very numerous possibilities of trips - not only to the famous Grotta di Nettuno, but we also visited, by ARST buses from Via Catalogna - the city of Bosa, Castelsardo, Sassari, we went to Stintino and the La Pelosa beach, Porto Torres, and would certainly found other places had we stayed longer.

Alghero's old town with its cobbled streets feels like...
Alghero's old town with its cobbled streets feels like stepping into another era yet it has a modern vibrancy with shopkeepers warm and welcoming that made me feel instantly at home. Everything is within walking distance with access to the promenade and nearby beaches. Yet for all its age, Alghero felt fresh, clean, and safe. The buildings are well-preserved, and the overall atmosphere was one of calm and security. Even in the quiet evening hours, the town had a sense of peacefulness, where you could explore at your leisure without a second thought. The better restaurants are to be found only a few streets from the old town centre. Public transport to and from the airport is both frequent and reasonably priced.

Absolutely beautiful place with lots of things to see and do. The restaurants and boat trips are great. The Cathedral is beautiful. The beaches are stunning There is a little train that you can take around the old town to get a better understanding of the area. It costs 6euro. The market stalls are lovely in the evening and there are always live singers and musicians in the streets at night

Alghero is beautiful. Especially the old town.
Alghero is beautiful. Especially the old town. Easy to walk around with beautiful shops, bars and churches. Cobbled streets so wear comfortable shoes! Avoid Bar dei Giardini cafe like the plague as the rudest customer service I have ever received! This is in Giardini Giuseppe Manno. We made the mistake of trying to order a sandwich there before getting on the bus to Olbia. Honestly the rudest staff I have ever encountered! Difficult to get a taxi after midnight. Book from the establishment you are leaving from, as not available off the streets. Strolling along Alghero seafront is the perfect end to an evening , ending up in Old Town for dinner. Beautiful.

We visited the old part of town.
We visited the old part of town. The ground of the narrow streets is not smooth (stoney), we walked in comfortable shoes. It is also possible to buy. There are gift shops, clothing and shoe stores.
The restaurant where we had lunch, however, was not a good choice. The pasta was tasteless, the tomato clam soup smelled awful. This restaurant was located on a corner with 2 side entrances and street tables. We went here without a recommendation, we just sat down. It was a mistake.

Really busy thriving town with plenty of restaurants and shops to visit. Very safe and friendly with a real family feeling to it. Don’t get lost, or do because the streets and lanes are a real labyrinth, particularly at night time.
For us, the farm was a perfect base for exploring the west coast of Sardinia and the port city of Alghero. We were treated to a delicious breakfast every morning (my two young children loved the homemade jam and the host very kindly gifted them a jar on leaving). There is also the option to have dinner, and again, the food on offer was amazing with an excellent vegetarian selection as well!
This place is in a rather quiet residential area, but still within walking distance from the old town. There are also some supermarkets less than 200m away.
This is not a hotel, so power is not turned off when you leave the room. Not sure why people still put up with this nonsense anyway.
In order to remind you that Sardinia is rather mountainous, the rooms are on the 3rd floor.
Berto was a great host! Apartment was clean and smelled good. There were clean towels, amenities, AC, TV. Breakfast included coffee, juices, croissants, sweets, fresh Sardinian fruit. Location was 10min from center and 35 min from Maria Pia beach by walk. There is closer beach in Alghero but Maria Pia was much nicer ☺️.
Location just on a first line to the sea and walking distance to Alghero city center. Apartment is not very spacious, but very comfortable. Equipped with everything needed to spend there sardinian holidays. Host Luisa is very welcoming and provided all the needed information and support.
This was the best accomodation we had in Sardinia. The host is very nice and helpful. The country house is in a lovely condition and the pool is great. It is also very nice that is close to Alghero’s old town (10 min by car) but in a calm, relaxing area. 10/10 would recommend!
