It was a friendly welcome at this hotel where we were also upgraded. The room was a decent size for the two of us in twin beds - blackout curtains and easily controllable air con were also perks. Unfortunately, we only made it to chocolate hour once! But the gym is reasonably well-equipped (for a hotel gym), and the pool and sauna are nice additional facilities.

We visited the Botanical gardens via the cable car, went to the zoo and also Te Papa. All absolutely fantastic! Super easy to get around - we only needed one Uber which was to and from the zoo and that was about $20 each way. Everything else was walking distance

Getting around Wellington was easy as everything within walking distance, which is great as you get to see more and stay fit.
Overall the Shepards Arms Hotel was excellent. Location was excellent, centrally located, easy access to the motorway, public transport and all the other Wellington hotspots. Staff are super friendly and really accommodating. The food on offer is yummy too. For an establishment close to the CBD another bonus is that there is free parking onsite but it does pay to arrive early or you may miss out. Highly recommend to other travellers, this is very good value for money.
The location is superb for an inner city stay in Wellingon, central to some of Wellington's best restaurants and cocktail bars even one in the hotel building.
Boutique rooms, comfy beds and great decor, loved the complimentary warm croissants and jam served in the foyer in the mornings and the snacks and drinks in the room. Fresh coffee outside the room door.
This is an outstanding choice of hotel.
The view from our room was stunning, looking out over the bay. The room was spacious, and the supply of tea/coffee and coffee making facilities was most welcome. Staff is friendly, especially in the dining room. Wellington Quay and the City is accessible on foot from the hotel. We appreciated the peace and quiet of this area.
Spacious and clean room with all the amenities. Bed was super comfortable. Hotel is located in central city so it’s only couple steps to all Wellington attractions. Highly recommend this place.
Lovely stay in Wellington. Great location. Quiet. We really liked chocolate hour as well 😋😍 Wellington is a great city and this hotel didn't disappoint!
