We stayed one night in Kyle of Lochalsh, really just so we could get a quick look at the Isle of Skye before continuing on our travels. Lovely place to stay. We did have a quick drive into Skye, which maybe wasn't really worth it. We have enjoyed our driving around mainland Scotland more...

There are so many different things to access from Kyle of Lochalsh. As well as Skye, there are many tourist attractions and beauty spots on the mainland too. We could have done more on Skye, as well as more things close by.

The hotel itself is well over priced, and the rooms we had had a lovely view bushes and gas storage tank. I have stayed in better hotels for up to a third of the price. Talking to other guests they were as dissatisfied as we were but like us had no other options.

Relatively expensive compared to other accommodation booked for our 12 day trip. Hotel felt a bit tired and dated. No hairdryer in room and ironing board provided was faulty. Bed was ok but moved too easily if pressed onto. Restaurant was full when we arrived at 7pm, so ate in the bar. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about and adequate selection. Would select another option for a future trip.

Wonderful views.
Wonderful views. Fishing boats moving across the water very restful. Bus near station only a few minutes away from Bothy, takes an hour to Portree on Skye. Train to Plockton 19 minutes. Wish we had had time for the boat trip from Kyle harbour. Hector's Bothy cafe often bustling, Pizza Mia freshly made carry outs good (haggis and red onion topping), Cafe opposite traffic lights friendly and welcoming. Very well stocked Co-op. Train journey to Kyle glorious, but a car might be better for exploring (good parking next to flat.)

Fabulous location, lovely room.
Fabulous location, lovely room. Evening bar and restaurant excellent.
Evening staff excellent
Breakfast - not good for the price of hotel, stern unhelpful staff member. Had to ask for water in the tea urn, wouldn’t serve hot porridge and then the hot breakfast later. ( you could only have it all served together) so you choose which went cold, your porridge or your cooked breakfast.

Heather is lovely and so is the room we stayed in. It’s spacious with a lovely new bathroom and nice hot water. We had a very comfortable two nights there and appreciated the milk and cold water provided in the mini fridge, as well as the porridge. I absolutely recommend this place!!! My only warning is, getting dinner nearby is a major issue right now and I would recommend contacting restaurants nearby (on the isle of Skye) to make a reservation for each night you are here. We did not and really struggled to find some place each night.
The room was very nice indeed. This hotel has recently been refurbished and I particularly liked the subtle 'Scottish' feel to the room in terms of colour of decor and furniture. I had a lovely sea view. The cooked breakfast and breakfast bar were very good. A limited dinner menu (nothing for vegans but I am not a vegan!) but everything was delicious. The staff were extremely nice and friendly. I stayed for longer than most guests probably do (one week) and I was made to feel very much at home.
A really beautiful place to stay with lovely views looking out to Skye. The accommodation is superb, it’s more like a little holiday cottage than a B&B. It’s very modern, clean and comfy, and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The continental style breakfast which was left in the room was really lovely. Would definitely stay here again when returning to this part of Scotland.
Highly recommended.
Everything, from the quality of the room and ensuite, hotel, bar and restaurant and food and drink. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Plenty of parking and great service. The price was very competitive compared to hotels on Skye and it is nearby to Skye and Plockton, so actually a great location. Wish I had booked 2 nights. Had a nice view too as did the restaurant. The hotel is well run and organised.
The hosts are lovely and passionate about what they do! A great reminder that it's always worth seeking out a local-owned place. We loved the hotel and the little touches made by the owners. We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was one of our favourite spots because of the view. Breakfast was great! Quality ingredients, unlike most inclusive breakfasts. Location is great too. Would recommend!
The accommodation was comfortable, modern and clean. Very centrally placed in the town of Kyle of Lochalsh and the hosts' directions were perfect. You can park freely at the doorstep or on the main street. It's also walking distance to the small train station, and a short drive south to Eilean Donan Castle. Hillwalkers, cyclists and paddleboarders will all appreciate the location.
The location was excellent. Right beside the main road to Skye and very close to Skye bridge. Good Co Op within walking distance and places to eat nearby.
Beds in the house were very comfortable, a really good sized kitchen.
Lots of accessories like toiletries, tea, coffee etc. And good utensils, equipment in the kitchen.
TV channels were decent too.
House was also clean.
The location of the hotel - a traditional Highland building - was great, we had an astonishing view over Loch Duich with unforgettable sunsets. We stayed there two nights and it was a good location for visiting Isle of Skye. We had a cosy room with a great view of the lake. Food was good as well. The place was very quiet and relaxing, I hope we will go back again!
Good place to stay on a road trip. Room had everything we needed, including comfy beds, excellent en-suite bathroom with shower (seemed to be refurbished and rather hot/powerful), pristine fluffy towels, great tea station. The option to have food right on the premises is always much appreciated. Hotel has a decent-sized parking lot round the back.
Excellently appointed room, better than a good hotel. Very good breakfast. Because of the bridge the Kyle of Lochalsh is effectively part of Skye so the location is very good for visiting the island. Shelagh knows the area very well and gave us lots of useful information.
Convenient location for travelling and sightseeing to the Isle of Skype. A good bedroom size and nice view of the area from the hotel. Nearby grocery and takeaway shops. Dedicated off-street parking and on street parking, there are always spaces.
Our first stay at a hostel. We had a four bed room for the three of us. We liked that we had our privacy. The kitchen facilities were adequate for a quick microwave meal. Good location, near the train station, grocery store and restaurants.
Stayed for one night for work and the hotel met my expectations and beyond. Comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was perfect and the waitress went above and beyond. Ten out of ten all round.
The staff were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The hotel was a little dated but we expected that and felt the staff and friendliness made up for that! Worth a visit to support these wonderful people.
Like a suite in a very classy hotel. Lots of thoughtful extras like tea bags , coffee, sugar, biscuits, toiletries. Helpful landlord about entry and vacating times to suit trains. Great views.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. the hotel is in a beautiful setting, the room clean and very comfortable. The view from the room was second to none.
