Skegness is your typical seaside resort, on a decent day it was fine but the weather was dreadful so we found little to do. We did the dinosaur world and aquatic centre but unless you like arcades there isn't much else. The rides in the theme park closed due to the weather so we were left wondering around and going back to the site. On a good day however the beach is lovely, there's donkeys, a fair ground, outdoor swimming at the nearby leisure centre, crazy golf and the usual seaside stuff.
The food can be costly and gluten free fish & chips x 3 cost nearly £50 which I thought was steep. There was plenty of chip shops you could shop around for a better deal as long as you don't have allergy's. There are supermarkets locally so if your like us and you have cooking facilities it's easy to do your own food.
We have an electric car and quick chargers are few and far between. There is one at the Co-Op but it's a max 1hr stay and if you end up queuing for it then you don't get a full charge. There are slow chargers at B&M so if parking for the day it's OK but expensive.
On the whole Skegness is great for families and kids of all ages

Not overly crowded in early May which made the stay relaxing. Pleasant region with Boston and Lincoln nearby to visit. Several good cafes and bars throughout the town together with the usual seaside amusements.

Dont believe all the negative reviews about Skegness being the worst seaside resort in the Country - even today 14/05/24 in the Daily Telegraph online version an article was proclaiming such!
I first went when to Skegness / Ingoldmells when 13 back in 1975 and while I left an almost 40 year gap between my follow-up visit in 2014 - I return several times a year in summer ever since and always look forward to it for a cost effective break & good fresh sea clean air.
I also go to Blackpool, Bournemouth as frequently as I do Skegness and while all three places & beaches have their own unique appeal - Me personally I think Skegness is better that Blackpool & Bournemouth - I prefer the beach to the other two & the cost if you know where to go & when to book is way cheaper than going to Bournemouth and probably on par with Blackpool.

Old school family holiday destination.
Old school family holiday destination. Fun fair, crazy golf, donkey rides, arcades, parks, aquarium and nature land seal sanctuary. Skegness has everything from chip shops, icecreams, donuts and seaside rock. For the adults there’s shops, bars and nightlife and the embassy theatre for an excellent show.
Nice welcome and everything was explained quickly and clearly. Very clean room with clean minimal decor (which I like) and tea & coffee in the room.
Good shower with easy-to-control hot water and the towels were like having a cuddle, very good quality. The bed was nice and comfortable.
Easy access with keys after hours and a great location just a 3-4 mins walk from the seafront and town centre.
Lovely friendly guesthouse, happy to stay again.
From the friendly welcome when we first arrived to the goodbye on the day we left, there was nothing to fault.
Breakfast was excellent and also the evening meal that we ate was great. Room 2 was the ideal room for our nearly 90 year old mother.
Cleanliness was exceptional, located just a short walk from the town centre this is truly a gem of a hotel. We shall certainly book again next time we are back in the resort.
A great place to stay very clean the landlady was very nice and helpful good location only 5 mins walk in to the town centre plenty of car parking it had everything I needed nice quiet area I did think am I going to use a lot of electric with the coin meter but I only used £2 in a 3 nights stay if I go back to skegness I would look to book this place first
This hotel was not the hotel i thought i had booked
I tbought we had booked the premier inn skegness and alot of other people did too. The site was obviously misleading which Sent me and other people to the premier hotel. Totally shocked and gutted to see where we had booked by mistake.. totaly misleading and the hotel was shocking
The location is excellent - only a 5 minute walk to the main area/pier etc. The room was spacious and extremely clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good - even catered for my vegan diet! Skegness is not somewhere we visit often, but this hotel definitely exceeded our expectations.
Hotel 20 minutes walk to Skegness town center. Free parking, good location. Room and hotel clean. Pub in hotel vicinity so no need to venture out.If weather warm plenty of safe space for kids to run around and have bookable pods. Staff friendly and polite. Just a nice hotel either with couples or family stay.
what wasn't there to like, the lodge was stunning, had everything we needed and more. one of the most peaceful places we as a family have stayed, the hot tub and dishwasher were a great hit with the kids :). not far from fantasy island and Skegness raceway. the tvs in each room made life easier too.
Spacious clean caravan , toys and board games for the kids in the caravan, fishing lakes on site , buses to Skegness town centre or to fantasy Island from just off site or there's one come onto site down near the restaurant/bar , plenty to do on site as long as you've got passes.
Excellent hotel the beds were so comfy great friendly staff good buffet breakfast great service all round stayed in many hotels in Skegness over the years all good not moaning about them the royal hotel is now top of the list
Good location and decent facilities. You have everything there what you needed. Very near to Skegness beach. It’s in a beautiful south view park. You have lidl, b&M , M&S in less than a mile.
Location was great for me , family live in Skegness site was a 2 min walk away , if just on holiday your situated in the middle so half way to town centre or ingoldmill markets
excellent hotel in great location food was amazing and freshly cooked both diner and breakfast staff very attentive
I’m not a golfer. but would strongly recommend staying here
