    Beautiful place, not overcrowded.

Beautiful place, not overcrowded. Attended the parkrun on the Saturday, met a bunch of lovely folks there. The parkrun itself was tough. Had a lovely run along the fjord, lovely views and natural surroundings. Buses and trains were excellent. Went to the cinema, a comfortable experienece. Don't bother taking cash - everything is paid for by card. Plenty eateries for all tastes. Had a delicious dinner at the Indian Tandoori.

Beautiful place to stay/explore - not too touristy and the locals are friendly and speak English very well. Public transport is top notch and affordable, lots of interesting shops, cafes, bars etc Worth visiting the Havet sauna, watching Ice Hockey (Nidaros Hockey)and taking a day trip to the waterfall at Storfossen. 10/10 would love to visit again!

Stayed here as stopover before and after an 8-day Havilla cruise, Trondheim to Kirkenes and back. Which was excellent by the way and highly recommended. So we spent one day touring the city and seeing some sites. Walked a circuit to the Fortress, Bakklandet, Old Bridge around the river front into the Nidaros Cathedral and then down to the harbour via the town square. Enroute, tea & cake, lite lunch followed by an fantastic Beers & Pizza at Grano next to hotel. 5+ miles.

The booking.com recommendation with sleep 4 quadruple room 2...

The booking.com recommendation with sleep 4 quadruple room 2 adults and two children. (rules: check in age must be 18 years or old) But come in on the day of booking, the hotel staffs states the hotels rules is that children age of two years or older considers adult) so they charge extra person NOK 50 per child since the booking did not declare the child as adults. The hotels has not thing to do with the booking since it stated only two adult. I need to deal with the booking.com. stay away!!!

We stayed in Trondheim for 1 day to recover from 2-days ride. Very nice and quite city. There are a couple of cool places if you like history: the Nidaross cathedral and the space around. We visited Rockheim and it is kinda cool. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the central area. The city has its own vibe. However, it’s hard to imagine what to do there for 2+ days besides the trips outside.

This was more or less what we expected; a hotel clearly designed for (but used not only by) people who have some kind of business in the adjacent hospital. Everything in a nice, modern Scandinavian style, and well maintained. Nice bright interiors. The room was quite basic, but clean enough and functional. The bed was good. The bathroom, while basic, was very spacious and comfortable, evidently designed for maximum accessibility. The breakfast won't win any prized but was perfectly edible. Overall, a good stay.

We all loved the sense of space in the hotel with the huge interestingly shaped lobby. Our room felt spacious despite having an extra bed in it and it was very quiet too. Being surrounded by the harbour/sea on 3 sides it felt we could always get a glimpse of it somewhere, especially in the bar on the top floor. Breakfast was great and we had the best barista style coffee we had had in two weeks of travelling in Norway.

I love the breakfast buffet with so many options of food :) I also love the location, is very close to Nidaros Church and easy to walk anywhere downtown Trondheim. Our room was spacious and comfortable to travel with a baby. The separate room gave our baby it’s own dark, quite space to sleep while us parents watched a movie and had food in the living room :)

A quiet, comfortable, and good-value hotel in a fantastic location in Trondheim! My room on the 6th (top) floor suited my needs perfectly. Large comfy bed, kettle and fridge, and a heated bathroom floor! This is a robo- or self-serve hotel; you don't interact with staff or check in/out personally, so if you're ok with that, it's fantastic.

Scandic is a god quality hotel, very good breakfast, helpful staff. I have booked standard double room because Booking showed that it would fit up to 3, but the guy at the reception said that it wouldn’t be comfortable for 3 since the beds were standard single beds and he upgraded to family room for just a little extra cost.

Friendly professional front desk staff. Even though the hotel was very busy on a weekend, staff kept the buffet items filled and hot.
