The location of the property was excellent with views over the sea and Monemvasia from the balcony. When we arrived we were given a map and detailed information about the area. The walk to Monemvasia from the accommodation was only about 15mins along the causeway. The breakfast was very good - a buffet with lots of choices which was eaten either in the hotel or at the tables on the beach with the rock of Monemvasia in the background. Very photogenic!

Beautiful hotel, lovely pool, great restaurant with views and comfortable room. The atmosphere of the hotel is informal and relaxed, yet the place is run to very high standards in a military fashion. The grounds are beautiful too.

The accommodation is new and located near the beach. The private parking was convenient. The host, Yiotha, was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late (~11pm), and they waited for us and gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival, and assisted us to carry our luggage up the stair to the room. Our room was of good size, clean, tidy, modern, quiet and well-facilitated. The bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was excellent, including omelette, fried eggs, a good serve of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit bowl, juice and coffee. We are very satisfied with this accommodation.
Located on the beach of Monemvasia, overlooking the rocks, Hotel Pramataris offers air-conditioned rooms equipped with TV and balcony.

Great view from the room, overlooking the Castle and next to the beach but quiet... Really liked the breakfast as well - rich and tasty... You can even walk to the castle from there... Mateo's restaurant nearby is great as well

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.
We drove from Olympia through Sparta to Kinsterna Hotel.
After driving through what might say a little bit run down villages it was unbelievable experience to arrive at this oasis.
Everything was so beautiful, the food and staff impeccable!
We stayed for 2 nights and took an took a hike in the island of Monemvasia, which is like another world.
The only tiny thing which i thing I did not like was the English pop-music played in the restaurant. I would have preferred some Greek or instrumental music, but that is probable just me 😊
The view of the sea and the Rock from our room was exceptional. The room was quiet, with comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and you could hear the sound of the sea. Plenty of parking out front. Wonderful breakfast. This must be the best value for money hotel in or near Monemvasia. Mrs. Pramataris and her family and staff were very welcoming, super efficient, and to top it all they mailed a package with our forgotten jackets to our next hotel in Greece. Amazing hospitality!
We chose the Aktaion Hotel online for a quick visit to Monemvasia. The medieval city itself is expensive so we chose to stay a couple of kilometers away across the bridge to the island. There is a frequent cheap passenger bus to the city gates so being outside is not inconvenient. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we had a good supper in the attached restaurant overlooking the port. The room also had a tiny balcony overlooking the port.
Our stay at this hotel was exceptional. When my husband sprained his ankle, the staff's quick response and assistance were incredible. They called the local hospital, ensuring he received prompt care.
Apart from the outstanding service, our overall experience was delightful, with warm welcomes, comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfast.
I Highly recommend Malvasia Hotel in Monemvasia Castle
Everything was perfect and exceed my expectations!!! Monemvasia is a magical place that travels you back in time. Lazareto hotel is built with stone and wood matches completely to surrounding environment and the character of Monemvasia. The people of the hotel made the whole experience even better. Very welcoming and warm staff from the moment of the arrival, willing to help you at any moment.
We stayed for two nights and were very happy with our stay at Likinia Hotel. It is located in a quiet part of the town, with easy access to the sea for swimming and restaurants for meals. The room was clean, well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. There is a nice buffet breakfast in the morning on the property’s terrace. We would definitely stay here again.
The room is located in the castle of Monemvasia, an amazing experience to walk in the little streets and wonder about the old alleys and squares. The owner was friendly and provided us with loads of information, fruit, and bottled water during our stay. The place is an old medieval house and we occupied the upper floor which was an experience worth living.
The host was very warm and welcoming upon arrival. We got lucky and received room 4 which has an absolutely amazing view of Monemvasia. Very convenient parking around the hotel and excellent location to visit everything on foot. We were also pleasantly surprised by the nice breakfast included in the price.
- Very nice and convenient location. Easily accessible parking. A 5 minute drive from Monemvasia.
- Everything was very clean including the pool
- View to the endless ocean.
- The owner and staff were very helpful. Suggested also places and restaurants close to the hotel.
Probably the best hotel in Monemvasia. Clean room, excellent breakfast, epic balcony, very good organised measures against Covid 19... The best position in the castle, professional, polite and kind stuff... Full recommendation!
If you expect 5 star hotel that is not it, but if you want to spend time in medieval house, in 1400 + years castle city with the great view on the see and protective wall go for it. The vibe is definitely there.
Amazing location. A simple hotel, but does everything well. Good sized rooms, clean, great hosts. Incredible position. Monemvasia is a little walk but so worth it. Fantastic place. Breakfast very good.
- Location, right in the castle of Monemvasia. Everything of interest is within walking distance.
- Clean
- Nicely decorated and maintained in its old style
- Owners welcoming and friendly
This hotel is excellent location to explore Monemvasia area . Clean , modern rooms and very lovely staff running the hotel , very helpful with information and also lovely breakfast.
Great luxury hotel very close to Monemvasia. Great restaurant on site and large, comfortable rooms. The pools and grounds are beautiful, and the staff were wonderful.
