The city is lively and vibrant with many cafes etc., nice murals... but I was surprised it looks quite run down. Unfinished buildings, grafitti, unpaved areas, dried lawns and flowers, old benches, fountain not working, lots of beggars. Does it deserve a better management/ mayor? The castle area has such a huge potential. A few cafes there and a pavement just in the process of building... but what have they been doing the last 10-15 years? As if the city was sleeping.... what is the story? In my eyes, at the moment, just for a necessary stay over if you travel by ferry.

Nice and charming city, with typical architecture for cities...
Nice and charming city, with typical architecture for cities in Greece, all buildings almost the same size and very close to each other with narrow streets and sidewalks (looks chaotic and cute at the same time). Lots of cafes and restaurants in the city center. Visited for the New Year and were surprised how everything was decorated, every street, square, tree... Do not miss the fortress and the view from there. Sunset is great as the city is oriented to the west. Also highly recommend to visit Archaia Olympia (where Olympic games in ancient Greece were held) which is 1.5 hours away by car. Be careful in the traffic in the city center as it is very chaotic, during 5 days experienced several cases where cars just did not stop on a red light (when for pedestrians was green!). Another negative side - extremely expensive fee for driving over the bridge if entering the city from north (14.7 eur per car for one direction!)MilosSerbia - 10Scored 10

Patra is a wonderful city, bustling and peaceful at the same time. We drank very delicious Greek coffee in quite a few cafes. The castle offers a wonderful view of the city. We tasted great wines at Achaia Clauss.

Patra is the key location for any traveler who wants to mix sunbathing days with history lessons experiences. One can easily get to more than 5 beaches located nearby, all with crystal clear waters and either pebbles or sand, where sunbeds can be found. At the same time, there are multiple other historical locations that can be visited (Epidavros, Delphi, Ancient Olimpia, temple of Apollo, Micene, etc.). Patras is worth visiting for its architecture and night life. There are some very good restaurants too, we ate in Prego in the old city and is a quirky restaurant with excellent Mediterranean dishes. Stroll around the pedestrian areas and you will be stunned by the liveliness of the city. Stop for a drink at Treli Rodia an old time favourite and speak to the owner Alexis to learn about the Patras he has experiencedXenofonUnited Kingdom

The facilities are wonderful, the staff very polite and our room was dreamy. We were also surprised with a room upgrade! Very comfy bed, state-of-the-art design and a shower big enough to sleep in. The restaurant in the premises is incredible, great dishes served and beautiful space to sit, relax and enjoy your dinner. We would totally recommend this hotel and surely will prefer it over any other hotel the next time we stay in Patra. Thank you so much for everything!

First time was great but second was so special because I had car accident in Greece close to Patra. Hotel staff wormy accepted me and my wife plus kept my broken car at hotel parking and helped me to continue my already planned travel. An old hotel that has been fully renovated recently offering everything one might need for their stay in Patras: nice staff, super comfy beds, efficient and quite air-conditioning, gym and pool, great roof garden, easy casting to the room TV to watch Netflix etc. Amazing value for money. The covid-adapted breakfast was ok. Free parking is a huge plus.

Hosts are awesome! Friendly and able to really look after you. Love his 62 VW beetle and his motor bike he has had for 41 years. Large, roomy, with a great kitchen. Washing machine for our dirty clothes was wonderful. If I ever come back to Patras this is where I am staying!

The location seemed to be good and even though the room didn't face the sea, the view of the city was lovely. We didn't stay at the hotel long enough to get the feel of it.
