Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

Its a quiet, slow city heavily under the shadow of czech republic. Every product comes from czech. People are somewhat satisfied and occupied in thier daily life but for tourist point of view nothing new interms of shopping, roaming around, attractions, outdoor activities. Streets were very very quiet after 9pm . Mostly clubs are open only on weekends. As a muslim you can get lot of halal food options. Book your stay near old town as thats the only place worth visiting. 3 to 4 big size malls with all the brands but prices as you would expect to be lower in slovakia is not true. They are same price like anywhere in europe. This travel does not worth considering limited connection for flights.

The Old Town Centre was lovely.
The Old Town Centre was lovely. We felt safe walking around. All the major attractions were within walking distance but be prepared, some of the walks we did were long. The Castle was worth visiting but the UFO tower was a bit pretentious with 2 small coffees costing 12 euros. The waiter was very huffy when I didn't tip him - we had paid 10 euros each to go up there!
Watch out for rip off restaurants - particularly Slarvic Kitchen - if it's not full avoid it.
Missed out on the Clock Museum which I think would be worth a visit.
We also visited Vienna from here.

Loved Bratislava. The old town is quaint and lively.
Loved Bratislava. The old town is quaint and lively. The evening market and entertainment in the main square was delightful. Many shops and restaurants tucked into little alleys and main streets. Checkout Eurovea shopping centre too as there are many restaurants along the outside of the shopping area and overlooking the Danube River and a lush grassed area. We also did a tour of the VW Plant on the outskirts of town which was amazing to see the robots in action.

A very interesting walkable historical city centre with a number of museums etc to visit.
Plenty of restaurants and bars and, of course, a plethera of the usual souvenir shops. Some modern shopping malls not too far out of the centre.
Bus and boats trips were available around the city centre; along the Danube to either local edge of the city attractions, or all the way to Vienna.
Had we an extra couple of days we would have taken in more of the city centre museums, tried more of the pubs and restaurants and maybe have taken a day excursion to Vienna.

View from the UFO tower was great.
View from the UFO tower was great. Staff at the tower were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was lovely. My son loves a burger and he says they're better than 5 guys. Picture taken from the viewing platform up the UFO tower.
This is a great budget hotel option for exploring Bratislava. We stayed in a double room with terrace. The room was spacious, light and airy. The large bed was comfortable but we did have to request extra pillows. The view from the terrace was wonderful and would be lovely in the warmer months to sit out and enjoy the sunset.
There is quite a lot of refurbishment going on in the hotel but we weren't disturbed by this during our stay.
The location is excellent, with a very short walk to the old town, bars & restaurants.
We went for longer weekend. With that in mind we wanted to stay close to old town to experience everything what Bratislava can offer by foot.
LOFT Hotel offers not only great location. It is much more, rooms are very nice and very clean, staff is very helpful. Breakfast is very rich and tasteful.
Evening fun - guests and external guest can enjoy in OnPremise , beer pub Fabrika (great selection of craft beers and great food).
Would recommend to all tourist who are planning to visit Bratislava.
Really nice and comfortable doubleroom flat is opposite to Bratislava Bus station and we use it for short night because we need catch the soon morning bus to Vienna airport. It is in the city centre, Nivy bus station and big shopping mall Nivy is just across the street. Just 10-15 min walk to old town. In front of the main entrance there is a Street food open till late night. Really good and flexible communication with landlord. Some sweets and snifters were waiting for us on the table :)
It is in the city center within a walking distance to almost all scenic spots of the old town. It is a very nice hotel. The room is clean with soft sheets and pillows. The amenities are superb! Free drinks and even free beer in the room. The breakfast buffet is so good too! The staff are courteous and very efficient. Special thanks to Patrick Montemayor and Andres for helping us settle in after we checked in. This is an extraordinary hotel worthy of recommendation.
The location was convenient despite not being in the old town of Bratislava, having bus stops opposite the hotel which we made use of. Overall, the hotel had an antique/vintage vibe and decor which added to our experience, yet the rooms were modern and comfortable. The breakfast was good as well, though I would have preferred other more well-known products to be available for selection (such as nutella over the unpleasant chocolate sauce).
Beautiful hotel in the old town of Bratislava. Calm yet central street. Very friendly staff, the check in and checkout were fast and clear.
A room might be slightly outdated (like old telephone and slight ware out in bathroom) but it gives a charm vibe, beautiful decor. The bad and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lighting in the bathroom.
There is enough variety for breakfast, including champagne. The room was always well cleaned.
The hotel is located in the historical city centre but thanks to solid windows it's quiet inside.
It was last minute booking and my apartment was simply amazing. Small kitchen, dinning room and really spacy living room with king bed. Not sure how the regular pricing looks like but having Booking.com price 78EUR is really great value for place like this
Friendly staff, and a great view from my hotel room (River view), which overlooks the Dunaj, and the Bratislava UFO bridge. The location is very convenient with the castle being just a 15 minute walk away, and a tram stop on the main road outside the hotel. The hotel is on the edge of the old town, meaning that restaurants and bars are very close by.
One of the friendliest staffs that we've come across in our travels. Thanks Alex! Enjoyed meeting the Captain (the boat cat!) Location was great for access to the Old Town Bratislava and the Christmas Markets. Views from the boat were excellent! Price (that included breakfast) was extremely good and had much value for the money.
- Location cannot be better, when it comes to the Old Town in Bratislava
- This was my second or third visit - the services in this hotel are always on par with the best hotels out there
- Quick and easy check-in, booking a taxi for the next day was easy as well
- Very helpful couple of ladies on the reception
Location fantastic, right in the heart of Old Town. So quiet, comfy, definitely a gem in Bratislava. Breakfast plentiful continental style. I'm a female travelling alone and it was safe and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.
The apartment was in a very convenient location. It was inside the old town of Bratislava so we didn't need to commute at all when we went for sightseeing. Everything was just within walking distance.
Nice and modern hotel close to the Bratislava old town, with easy access to the north motorway. Everything was new and clean, the room was comfortable and quiet and the breakfast was good.
The Room, and its view of the Danube River was spectacular! The Breakfast, staff, and the hotel amenities were wonderful.Within walking distance to the wonderful Old Town of Bratislava.
