We didn't eat at the hotel, so can't comment on the food. Also, again we didn't use it but in the morning there was a basket of fresh donuts and fruit out for guests to pick up on their way out which was generous. I can't fault the hotel on the whole - it had everything we needed, plenty of radiators for wet equipment, boot room, shower always hot, nice toiletries, pool, sauna, hammam, hot tub, gym, fusbol, pool, bar etc. It's just not what I'm used to. Great location and amazing mountain views. Staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble.

I went to summer ski so I don't really care about the location. I think it's good for the winter as it's just few steps away from the chair lift. The breakfast is simple and they also provide lunch box which will cost you about 12 euros each. Room is large and clean.

Highest ski resort in France and one of the highest in Europe. I would recommend people who visit Alpes the first time to this resort. The price for skipass and accommodation will be much lower than Swiss or Austrian ski resort.

The village is crowded, but still attractive to stay in.

We could choose whether to cook ourselves or going out for dinner. There are many restaurants and other eating facilities. Shops are available to buy your own vegetables and other necessities for cooking yourself.
You can choose to travel to Les Deux Alpes by public transport (combination of train and bus) or by car.

Loved the mountain biking trails.
Loved the mountain biking trails. Liked the artisan village of Venosc & the walk to the waterfall passing by goats on the way.
I took a day trip to La Barade. The scenery & flora were incredible. Well worth the trip! In the past I saw Chamois & Bouquetin but not this year.
Standard French Ski resort - everything is overpriced.
I really liked The Spot restaurant which serves excellent food at a reasonable cost.
Unfortunately the glacier was closed due to not enough snow. The mountains are a major construction site in summer time with a replacement Jandri Lift system being built. The Valley Blanche side was also full of bulldozers, diggers & earth moving equipment - adjusting the scenery some of it coming into contact with the trail systems. All bike trails above mid mountain were closed on the glacier side which meant that it was not possible to ride from the Glacier down to Venosc. One lift that needs an upgrade is the Mot de Lans chairlift which is pre-historic for Les 2 Alps. I would guess that this was to mitigate the risk of bikes & construction equipment coming into contact which is a safety consideration.
We enjoyed a swim in the semi-natural lake which was refreshing after a day on the trails. The luge was fun for a one-off run!
Plenty of things to amuse & if you have a multi-day lift ticket then you can use the lift pass at Alpe D'huez.

Great skiing and snowboarding for intermediates, if your a complete beginner you may want to come back when you have the hang of things. Lots of blue runs and some good red. Guaranteed snow is always a bonus, and the piste patrol keep an eye on everyone.
The toilet facilities on the mountain (especially on Le Crete, beginners area) were worse than the pits at a festival (yuk!) - LDA really need to sort this out, it stopped many people from eating in the area.
On the plus the town is a busy working town, lots of locals and tourists which gives it a great vibe. You can choose to grab a takeaway from one of the many on offer and have a cosy night in or you can party to 5am, but a big shout out to those who chose to party, they were very quiet on the way home, so very few disturbed nights.

The ski facilities are not well run.
The ski facilities are not well run. Long queues and a lot of lost time. A great deal of blue slopes makes the location more suitable to less experie nced skiers. Restaurants are typical. One cannot expect anything particular. They are ok.
The views were fantastic. The hotel was in a great position for the ski lifts. Ski in ski out was perfect. The breakfast every morning had a good choice of fruit, cereal, croissants cakes, cooked sausage bacon, and eggs. Boiled eggs ham etc, selection of jams choc spread etc.
The rooms were warm, clean, comfy with a nice balcony overlooking the slopes.
Staff were helpful and cheerful.
The bar area was cosy with sofas and a large outside food/drink terrace.
I spent a week skiing solo in Les Deux Alpes. The apartment was just what I needed. It's very close to the lift, less than 5 minutes walk on a quiet side street. It has everything you need including a dishwasher and plenty of space for one or two people (might be a bit tighter for four). The owners were very kind and checked with me several times to make sure I have everything I need. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you :)
The staff is amazing! We went to this hotel after we encountered a problem with a previous one. And the staff understood our situation and gave us a room at ~11AM, which was life saving for that ski day. Location is very good for skying, basically you just have to walk 20 meters, then take the small tunnel, then slide to Diable. Very good breakfast, big and clean room, spa/massage facilities
The owner/admin was super nice, got two sets of keys, the place had everything it needs and super comfy; instant hot water and a couple of heater bodies to dry clothes. It's at the 7th floor with an awesome view, located centrally in the resort; locker for skis/snowboard downstairs. Note that towels and sheets come for a fee. Overall 10/10 exceeded expectations at a reasonable price.
We had a family room. The children had almost an entire room to themselves. The hotel has a very comfortable and alpine feel. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent and varied and the breakfast ticks all the boxes for hungry skiers preparing for a big day on the slopes!
Fantastic staff, couldn’t do more to accommodate my GF free wife and Marcelle helped us to stay an extra night! Great location near Village Chairlift and ski bus stop outside. Ski equipment rental shops, ESF meeting point and liftpass office close by. Simple but cosy rooms with lovely views over mountains.
Classic ski hotel, with free parking and friendly staff that spoke both french and english.
Room nice and clean, and also very warm , with great views of the beautiful mountains.
Buffet was great, very good selection for breakfast and dinner, even with a choice of wine.
wonderful location for this small hotel in the middle of the mountains and walking distance from the village center. Nice heated swimming pool, nice terrasse and comfortable family room, everything you need for a nice holiday in a wonderful place is here.
Property is in central location near bars & restaurants, good ski hire shops within 5 mins walk and 5-6 mins walk to main ski lifts. Rooms are simple but clean & comfortable and newly refurbished. Good breakfast in the morning and ski room downstairs
The apartment was very well located and near the ski lifts and cable car. There were the free shuttle buses close by. The apartment was well furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed for our 1 week stay. Would definitely come back again.
Central location, although most slopes are on the other side of the village, I e 10 min walk to the ski lift. PRIVATE GARAGE is hard to undervalue. Parking in the street is horrible, and sometimes you’ll need a snow shovel to get into your car.
Chalet Mounier is the best hotel we have stayed in for a skiing holiday. The staff made us feel most welcome and were friendly and attentive.
The food was exceptional.
Really lovely spa facilities for recovery after a day on the slopes!
The hotel has many lovely nice touches such as freshly baked cakes each afternoon and available teas and coffees for guests to help themselves throughout the day. It has a calm and happy vibe which was perfect for our family ski holiday.
It is so central for access to buy passes, the Jandri Express, the ski hire and the shops. We arrived in the village, parked the car and didn’t look at it until leaving at the end of our stay. Also superb views of the mountains.
Apartment is really good equiped, clean and on the perfect position to reach the ski slopes and lifts. Communication with landlord is simple and he responds quickly. Perfect for a family with one child. Recommend.
Location!!! 20m from the pist, 3 minutes ski to the nearest lift, close to bars and shops (village is small anyway) but very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay ❤️
