Economic situation seems not very healthy.
Economic situation seems not very healthy. Largest employers have gone ; ie Harvester - Quite a few folks living in tents at the River - the rents have jumped so high, so fast (not morally right) that folks were forced out. The River park is lovely - with the exception of the above - and these folks have to have some place! We drove to ErieEau for the Art on the Boulevard - most pleasant day - at least 2 good restaurants - beach is great - accessible mats laid on sand (wheelchairs, etc.).AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

It is a beautiful little city. with many amenities. We ate at Mama Maria's and it was the best Italian food we have ever eaten. It was a short walk from our hotel. There was music and drinks also nearby.

We did not get to see too much of Chatham but we did manage...
We did not get to see too much of Chatham but we did manage to stop into Sons of Kent Brewing Company, which had some of the best craft beer we've tried! Would love to check out the museums next time! (They were closed when we went). Everyone we met in Chatham was so friendly and accommodating.

Chatham is a very great place to go and enjoy sights always a hidden gem. We visited a friend that move here from Hamilton. We ate at Flapjacks amazing to go for a meal and I liked how they advertise using local farms. We were in Chatham for the weekend I have nothing to complain or asked to fix. Retro Suites was fantastic but their adjoining restaurant, The Chilled Cork, was not quite as good. We ordered room service and 1 hour and 20 minutes later I called to check on it and was told the order didnt go in the computer and now the kitchen was closed. I was not impressed but they did offer up a choice of 3 salads with chicken or salmon on it. They brought us each the salad we ordered plus a bottle of wine and told us it was all complimentary. The salads were very good.

The 2 room was a simpler room, but also stylishly furnished. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended. The front desk friendly, the rooms nicely furnished and clean. The bathrooms clean and spacious. If we are in the area, we will definitely book this hotel again. The quiet and effective air conditioning systems should also be mentioned positively
