The very perfect place if you visit Tayrona and want to relax a couple of days. We were staying in the family room in the main building. Beds were very comfortable and with mosquito nets. In the morning you wake up by the sound of birds and monkeys!
Restaurant on the terrace, a nice clean pool with some hammocks.
The property is wide spread out, with beautiful vegetation and is well taken care of. The public beach (with some restaurants) is a 10 min walk away. From there you can walk along the beach, which is very beautiful, secluded, clean but wild for hours.
Public bus stop ‚Los Cocos‘ is right in front of the entrance (5 minute ride to El Zaino). 24h reception, they organize very reliable transport or airport pickup for you.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay, thank you all! And we loved the house parrot Lila who was always on one of the trees.
Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant, the beach-front Hotel Casa Barlovento is located 30 km from Santa Marta and 2.6 km from Parque Tayrona. Breakfast is included.

Proximity to Tayrona really good - El Zaino entrance and walks. Other destinations a longer taxi ride (such as Minca) but all manageable.
Property itself is lovely. Immaculate, spacious and a very good food offering. Delightful service.
Nice pool and lots of space around to take in diffract views. Only negative is the weak shower pressure (cabana 1).
Easy drop down to beach and sea - and very atmospheric bar for sundowners.
Pretty much perfect

Liked: Came here in October 2021 and returned mainly because the place is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning, you're in the middle of nature and wherever you look there are amazing birds or giant trees.
Disliked: During our five day stay, the water was cut three times and electricity went out twice (this didn't happen last year). Also, almost every night a noisy water leakage would start under the cabin and the last night there was a hydraulic motor-bomb malfunction nearby, very noisy as well. Every time I called the administration and they responded in good will, sometimes being able to help and sometimes not. But these issues are clearly the result of long-term poor management, and there is only so much the on-site staff can do.
Also, the hotel sells the idea of being able to offer good wi-fi: nothing could be further from the truth. Wi-fi is extremely unstable. You can go hours, even days without connection. So this is not a good place to go if you require a stable internet signal. I went with the idea of working remotely and had a negative experience in that department.
This said, it wasn't a horrible couple of days, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Los naranjos is a huge place where the jungle merge with the beach, divided by a river that can be crossed wslking when the tide is low, aligators are the puppies of the area and althought they look dangerous they only like to take a sunbath, they are afraid of humans, but dont test this, keep away from them and enjoy, the beach have different walking access, explore them all.

This was a mixed bag.
This was a mixed bag. On the upside, the restaurant was really fantastic and the view from the deck chairs, overlooking the beach, was just stunning. The room was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. That said, the photographs of the rooms are misleading, as the rooms are actually really really dark, with just a few dim lamps providing a little bit of light. The “sea view” from the room that is pictured in the snaps is also not really anything. You can barely see the water. When we told the front desk staff that this was not what they were advertising, they said they would "be back to discuss" and then never showed up. Since it was only one night, we decided to just stick it out. Also, at this price, it seems like the hotel could have hot water in the showers. Oh, and our room was next to the kitchen so we were woken up early with noise from the staff, blender, etc.
Fabulous location overlooking the Rio Piedra and Tayrona National Park. The area is so verdant and so full of creatures and feels like a tropical paradise. In the hotel grounds we saw numerous birds, iguanas and even caiman crocodiles.
We had the swimming pool suite which overlooks a small deck with a pool and the Rio Piedra.! The restaurant is very good and the service was excellent. I can’t recomend it enough. The hotel pricing is also very reasonable. It’s clearly a well run establish with some excellent staff.
The location of be hotel is excellent, very close to Tayrona NP and the view from the hotel and terrace is stunning. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and the rooms are spacious and nice. The staff were also incredibly nice and helpful. Special thanks to Sharon who was on hand to help, Sandris who prepared an excellent breakfast and helped me out massively with getting a taxi, and to the girl who helped me check in and the evening barman/chef (I didn’t catch their names unfortunately!)
Our stay at villa playa Tayrona was absolutely amazing. The assistant manager (Thais) made sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend the tubing trip down the river. The hotel has the most amazing view we have ever seen. Make sure you stop by the Sierra bar near the hotel for delicious tacos and cocktails with an unreal view. Bring enough cash, there are no ATM’s near Tayrona, only in Santa Marta. All in all, the best stay we had in a long time!
Everything including the room, the food, the views, the staff and the facilities has been amazing. We felt so comfortable and taken care of every single day. We would like to emphasize Angela who was just wonderful and accommodating. Including a daily Spanish lesson. :) We stayed 8 nights at the hotel and we would do it again. We used the transport service from an to the airport, Santa Marta and the Tayrona national park. We didn’t have any problems.
Amazing beach just 5 min walk. The sea is ruff like everywhere on that coast, so one should be very careful while going into water.
The hotel garden is very nice. The owners are friendly. The food is good. It is a bit uphill, but you will be rewarded by great views
they charge extra 15% for the card (but are accepting it, because some hotels dont)
Great location - nicely secluded from main road (tropical vibes!) and right by the beach
Idyllic hotel - surrounded by nature (saw monkeys, birds,…), amazing pool, rooms (every guest has own bungalow), restaurant
Good restaurant - good food, large selection for lunch and dinner and reasonable prices
Very friendly staff
The management and the service is absolutely phenomenal. We tested out many places in the area and this was by far our favorite. The food is the best we’ve had through all of Columbia. You can tell by the taste that it’s made with care. We will be coming back to stay with Villa Playa Tayrona soon!
The facilities were clean. The location was central to get to various beach towns with the bus and also near Tayrona National Park. The AC works well in the room I got with AC. They accept card for the room and restaurant. Staff Samantha from Mexico was very attentive and kind.
Lilliana was an incredible host who went above and beyond to give us great information about Tayrona Park and the surrounding area. She was also very helpful in arranging transportation between the hotel and Cartagena with short notice. Our group was very pleased overall!
Beach view was beautiful from our bungalow. Staff was very friendly. Grounds were very nice, very jungaley. The staff was helpful in guiding us on what to do/ booking a driver, etc. The food was pretty good and the staff at the restaurant were very nice and attentive.
The location is amazing! beautiful views, secluded beach, and the facilities of the hotel were amazing. we loved the food, the drinks and all of the amenities. The staff was incredible, extremely helpful, nice and always will to assist in anything we needed.
One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been. Top that off with helpful and friendly staff, gorgeous rooms, superb food, and access to better bird watching, views, beach walks, and sunrises and sunsets than those in Tayrona Park.
Location is perfect, river access behind the hotel, local shops and restaurants near by and few minutes walk to the main entrance to Tayrona National Park. Nice swimming pool by the room. Bus stop in front of the Hotel und
The beach is totally awesome and 10 times nicer then in tayrona park beaches. The location is very close to the park if you decide to go. The food is good at the hotel and the staff was super helpful. Super friendly also.
Had an incredible time at Hotel Isabella. The staff found out it was my birthday and surprised me with a brownie and candle to celebrate. Made it an exceptional time.
The ceviche here was also very very good.
The location, just 5 minutes by car from Tayrona National Park entrance is a plus. The facilities are amazing, very nice and comfortable rooms, beautiful scenery, 5 minutes walk from Los Naranjos beach
It was a gem in Tayrona! Super close to the national park, sparkly clean, friendly staffs, great swimming pool.. and.... THE FOOD!!! OMG the food at this hotel is so good. excellent breakfast!
It was very close to a beautiful beach and river. They are right next to each other. The hotel atmosphere is very peaceful. The community is gated, so I felt very safe.
The hotel is located in a gorgeous location; the service is incredibly good, all the staff was nice and accommodating. The food at the hotel was fantastic as well!
