We enjoyed Hotel Bhadgaon so much that we extended our stay twice!
The staff were professional and polite but also gave us a very warm welcome. We felt immediately comfortable. The rooms were spacious (even with a huge bed) and kept very clean. The poolside lounge area and bar was the perfect place to relax, especially mid-week when the hotel is quieter. It was a short walk uphill to the historic heart of Bhaktapur, which was perfect for us.

It was a quiet setting with outlook to the farms. The management and staff were wonderful. We also took a very cheap but excellent tour to the Durbar square and an arranged transfer to the airport.

I loved the charm of Thagu Chhen, and also make sure to stay here during visits to Nepal. It never disappoints. In fact, the place appeared better maintained than in prior years. It felt more upscale than it used to be, especially the breakfast options.

Bhaktapur is an undiscovered jewel in Kathmandu Valley. Hotel Traditional is ideally located as close to Bhaktapur's lovely Durbar Square as one can get. In sharp contract to chaotic Thamel in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is quiet and peaceful. One gets the feeling of what traditional Nepal is really like in this charming place. And Hotel Traditional is a nice place from which to enjoy it.

I have been traveling a lot in my life, but I never saw such a beautiful city. Eventhough, the dramatical earthquake , all the buildings and temples have been fixed with the old materiel.
Walking by night in Bhaktapur in those small street is like to be in the middle age. Bhaktapur is a travel through the time.

Nice place to stay for a couple of hours.
Nice place to stay for a couple of hours. If someone like spiritual places, definitely the right location. A lot of places are still under construction, since the earthquake, so the 55th window palace was closed.

Bhaktapur is still recovering from the 2015 earthquake which created havoc with the local historic buildings. However, much has been done though. The place is doing it's best to get back into a reasonable position however COVID has taken its toll on the local industry and tourist venues (small shops and traders as well as the restaurants and hotels - a large number of which were closed when I visited.)
I have visited many times and it still retains a special charm - photographic opportunities are always present, whether the buildings, the people or the views of the mountains - still is a magical place.
Oh, (like other places in Nepal) the people are so friendly - they stop and ask if you need help but just want to be helpful, with no pushy sales pitch or offering of a ride to other local attractions.

The best part is always its food.
The best part is always its food. I just can't stop myself from eating Newari khaja set( Newari cultural food) and juju dhau ( special curd ) . Also, this time they had the facility of boating in Siddha Pokhari and it was a lot of fun paddling oneself.

One of the best places of Kathmandu.
One of the best places of Kathmandu. You will definitely want to stay longer than your original intend. We extended our stay there for 2 extra nights (4 nights in total) People are friendly, the old city is very beautiful. (If you intend to stay more than 1 night, be careful to ask to write down your passport number on your entrance ticket to the old city, otherwise you will have to pay the entrance multiple times..)

A number of attractions in old town well worth seeing.
A number of attractions in old town well worth seeing. Some earthquake damage has spoilt a few though. Some restaurants overpriced and over rated in certain guides. Typical of many places all over the world though. Short walks outside old town worth the effort. Out passed Ram Ghat to hill top gives good view of Himalayas, for instance and chance to see more local people untouched by tourism.
This was our second time in this hotel in about 10 years and we enjoyed our stay very much. This time we booked King Deluxe and the room and bathroom was quite large and spacious. Clean, well organized, we had everything we needed. The shower worked perfectly, the mattresses were a bit too soft but still comfortable enough.
the cafe downstairs has quite a good menu and we enjoyed our breakfasts selected from the menu on both mornings. The staff was friendly and polite. The location is central, right on Durbar square
Our second visit after a seven year gap. It is certainly the most atmospheric, historic small hotel (really a historic building) in Bhaktapur and overlooks the square that is the centre of festival and celebration life of the city (and the least affected by the past earthquake damage and ongoing restoration needs). So tremendous location, with frequent musical processions outside. Free high quality coffee. Breakfast is good. The staff and owner are always responsive.

The hotel is perfectly located just outside the main square, the rooms are nice & clean - great value for what you pay. The staff is really sweet and shout out to the owner Sulav who was an amazing host and a lovely person, he made sure me and my girlfriend arrived safely at our next destination and he even picked me up as I wanted to come back to Bhaktapur for the festival.
If you’re looking for a solid stay in Bhaktapur - this is it 👍
Very cosy and comfy room, clean and with a nice view.
Everything functional (power, bathroom...), very well located 2min walk from durbar square and surrounding streets!
The owners are very kind and welcoming
As they haven't recovered activity level from covid years however, there is limited food options available at the guesthouse, but breakfast was good and there are plenty of options (touristy or more local) around in Bhaktapur
Quiet room right in the middle of the old centre of Bhaktapur. The hotel is owned by 3 welcoming and friendly brothers.
We enjoyed a different breakfast every day on the rooftop. Because of the great breakfast, we tried also lunch and dinner at Rupakot. Every dish was delicious with fresh ingredients. Chicken Sizzler was my personal favourite!
Staff was lovely, food was very good, one of the best breakfasts I've had in Nepal, especially combined with an amazing rooftop view. Quiet despite being at the heart of the town. Staff was very helpful, giving me an extra blanket within 5 minutes of asking, helped arrange bus ticket and even walked me early morning to the bus stop!
the hotel is near to the square and walking distance, near to restaurants also, hotel set up or design is like traditional house you feel like your stay a nepali house before, staff are friendly, the back our breakfast at night as we requested coz we leave early...
The room i stayed in is clean with amenities provided. The breakfast is good and the staff are amazing and helpful. The hotel is very near to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and there is one good affordable restaurant in front of the hotel that served good foods.
Lovely Hotel near centre of the old town, beside Durbar Square, central to everything but still quiet in the evenings. Staff most helpful and gave us advice on places to go, where to eat, how to get to our next location etc. Room spacious and clean.
Nice property with basic rooms right on Durbar Square in Bhaktapur. Walk out the door straight into the square. Very friendly staff, accommodating and pleasant. Small restaurant within the hotel itself and some beverage supplies
Eventhough we stayed for one night only, it felt like we were home. Super lovely and friendly owner. Clean and spacious room. The hotel is at a walking distance from Bhaktapur's main sights. It was short but memorable. Thank you!!
The best staff , so courteous starting from the reception staff , kitchen department , cleaning and serving department . everyone is so courteous and make you feel at home . Beautiful resort with lovely views .
Really lovely hotel at the best location in Bhaktapur in my point of view..The staff, rooms and hot shower made me never wanted to leave this place. Highly recommended .. and they also have the best rooftop
