Nice is a nice :) location - a mix of hills with sea.
Nice is a nice :) location - a mix of hills with sea. Nice old city, nice shopping locations. You need more than 1 day, but, I'd say not more than 3. I'd add to the popular recommendations the open market(near the sea) during the mornings - you can buy lot of interesting things + much cheaper - including also pastries.

Absolutely loved Nice!
Absolutely loved Nice! Beautiful coastal city with plethora of wonderful restaurants shops, and daily open market. Nice was our homebase for exploring the other towns as the public transport within Nice and to the other towns were unmatched. Would have loved to spend more time in Nice.

Nice is what you choose to make of it: beaches, sea air, wonderful restaurants, snack bars, musical performances, artisan crafts, warm, welcoming shops, amazing French bread, museums, easy walking as far as you like, beautiful parks with fragrant blossoms, a tram that runs frequently whether you're going to the airport or other sites in Nice...

WE explored Nice on the first day and then went to Cannes and Antibes the 2nd day and Montecarlo on the 3rd day. Ideal place to look around Cote d'azur. I booked the train ticket on trainline (using my app) and did not have to wait in the queue or try to translate from french to english. But you need to book the restaurants if you want a good meal.

We are not beach people but we loved the location and warm weather, offering the possibility of sitting on the beach to enjoy the view. The weather was excellent. We loved the gardens and the one at Villa Ephrussi is a must! There were museums to visit and plenty of restaurants with excellent variety between local food and others such as sushi, vegetarian and also supermarkets and shops. La Pilha Leva is a best location to try local specialities. Transportation is easy and cheap. Nice is an excellent base to visit other areas such as Villefranche, Eze, Monaco, and Menton. Lots of excellent walks; the coastal ath from Nice to Villefranche is dramatic and beautiful. We walked up the hill to Cimiez and Cascaide de Gairut. Lots of interesting Belle Epoque architecture and history. It's a lovely place for a holiday.
I booked in very late last minute and staff were extremely accommodating. 2/3 minute walk from the train station, bed was comfy, room was perfect temperature and extremely quiet. The hotel was happy to store my luggage the following day whilst I explored the city, and arranged a taxi for me to get to the airport later and even sorted me out with a coffee whilst I waited! Hotel was well situated for exploring Nice - didn’t take too long to walk to the beach/centre/old town etc. would happily stay again if I’m ever back in Nice.
Stuff was super nice and helpful, breakfast was amazing, with so many food variations. Hotel was very nice, for France room was spacious. We loved the location, there are so many walking distance transportation options. The street is very quiet and the room also. We had a room with a balcony which we would recommend. Across the hotel there is a small shop if you arrive late you can buy some food, drinks etc. we felt very safe in the neighbourhood, we had late night walks. We would recommend this for your staying.
Conveniently located (a 15 min walk to the sea, a busy mostly pedestrian street with many shops); very nice staff in the hotel; breakfast is probably not bad as for France as at least it has a few basic salty products besides typical French ones; very clean room properly cleaned daily (and bed sheets are replaced); free unlimited cold water on the ground floor; modern shower installation; possible to leave a luggage; possible to call an inexpensive taxi with the reception.
Staff were amazing. We didn't like our first inside facing room and they happily changed it the next day to one with a stunning view (the Nice dream). Lovely clean, well sized room and very well kept and clean hotel. Beautiful bathroom and shower. Fantastic location close to the main centre, Old town and promenade/beautiful seaside with tons of great food places (try L'alchimie just around the corner). Would highly recommend this hotel
Came here on our honeymoon and it was amazing! I don’t normally leave reviews, but Joel and his staff made our trip to France a great experience. They made you feel like you were staying with old friends rather than at a Hotel. Also, the room was very nice, and modern, which is not the case for most hotels in Nice. The bathroom was huge and had the best soaker tub I’ve ever been in. Highly recommend if you’re going to Nice!!
Huge apartment in old Nice was my family’s favorite place we stayed at while we toured France. Our room was very clean and luxurious with awesome views of the waterfall and close to everything. The front desk exchanges money and had a better exchange rate than any of the other rates that I saw in town. The full kitchen and washing machine were awesome too. The rates were exceptionally good too!
The staff at the front desk were friendly and answered every question I had. Especially the girl that was during the day took her time to help me with phone calls. The room was big with a terrace that had a beautiful view. It was good to have the fridge and everything in the kitchen. The location of the hotel is good. We walked to the train station, to the old town and everywhere in Nice.
We had a nice stay at Hotel Villa Rivolli! It is a very quaint hotel in an excellent location. The staff was nice and accommodating. It’s close enough to walk to the promenade and old town. It is also very convenient for getting to transportation to visit other locations like Monaco, and Ezz. We enjoyed the breakfast outside in the pretty patio area. We thought it was worth the money.
Hotel Bristol is a small hotell but on very good location in city center, near Train station in Nica ,Room was a little bit smaller then expected but was very clean. There was refrigerator in room, Beds were comfy and nice view from room.Every day cleaning and stuff changed towels and linen every two day. Personel were so kind and helpfull. A/C and wi fi worked perfect
Highly recommend the Le Meridian Nice hotel with ocean view balcony. Amazing views of the Mediterranean. Close to Old Town Nice. Great rooftop restaurant and bar. The staff was friendly and professional. The general manager personally greeted us. Very clean, with comfortable bed and roomy bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Everything! Maurixio was a delightfully joyoys welcoming to Nice, France checking me in with white glove excellence. Quiten the waiter was charming and cheery and during my week stay anticipated a d remembered my name and favorite Latte's. I will return! !!!
Everything about the hotel met or exceeded our expectations. The staff was excellent. They were kind, helpful and friendly.
The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was excellent. We were in France for 2 weeks and this was our favorite hotel of all.
The hotel was very nice and clean. Liz at the reception made the stay even better by giving me all the best recommendations of places to go especially restaurants. It’s not very close to the old town but there’s transportation right outside the hotel.
This the second time I have used this hotel love the location close to the old town the staff where very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable. Will use this hotel again next year when I am back to run in the Semi Marathon of Nice.
Fabulous location, a stones throw from the train station so very handy for going to Monte Carlo or Antibes/Cannes. Near Nice main high st & a lovely 20 minute walk to Nice old town. Comfy beds, good value compared to other hotels.
Breakfast was slightly disappointing but overall this is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. I rate this hotel very highly and it is one of the best we have stayed at in France. We are returning for another two night stay.
location was in a quiet neighborhood but close walk to old town, train, and beach. Staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel had charm and the property has a restaurant. Nice breakfast if you want.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location of the hotel, close to the tram stop, and walking distance to the old town. Water and coffee were available all the time.
