We had never heard about Gyeongju before and had no idea about the treasures that awaited us! We'd seen that a Canadian travel company had included the city on its itinerary, so were confident that we should visit it while travelling on our own. We almost missed seeing the small Geumgwanchong Museum where they showed in elaborate detail, how the Silla tombs were constructed. The Silla Dynasty Tombs information Centre next door provides even more displays to help grasp the complexity of the Silla peoples. Don't miss these buildings - they are a great addition to the things you will see in the fabulous Gyeongju National Museum. Make a point to see the Woljeonggyo Bridge during the daytime, and again at night! By the end of our visit, I began to refer to Gyeongju as the 'Ankor War' of Korea. Unforgettable!

A beautiful place, close to nature.
A beautiful place, close to nature. It is spectacular and has the best air in the world! If you want a small town vibe alongwith delicious food and small cozy cafes (the best coffee!!) You need to come here. Once you are here, book a stay at Doran Doran. You can walk around and reach beautiful palaces, a beautiful garden which not just takes care of your 10 thousand steps but adds years to your life. The beautiful breakfast makes your heart beam with and and the cute 90s vibe strikes a memory or two! Just outside the guesthouse, there is a convenient store, where you can meet some amazing people over a beer (like I did!) Go for it buddy!!

Gyeongju is a place worth to visit.
Gyeongju is a place worth to visit. It was my second time visit but I didinot remember the detail of the first time as I visited there by a tour from Japan. It may be better to visit there not by a group tour. ALthough I visited there alone, it looks that more enjoyable for a couple. There are some histrical places and in addition nice and fashonable streets.

Lucked into being in Gyeongju on Buddha's Birthday (May 15, a national holiday). Can't rave enough about Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple. It was especially zen with all the fluttering flags and lanterns carrying personal wishes.
Viewing burial mounds in the city, from inside and outside, was also a great introduction to the Silla Dynasty.

We visited Gyeongju for one night to see the local sights and it was exactly what we needed. The room has its own bathroom and it is a hanok type building with beautiful garden with flowers. Everything is about 30 minutes by foot. Close to convinient stories and restaurants. The old couple was friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time.

Pretty town and worth seeing with wonderful restaurants but the burial mounds visit is a must. Very well organized with information centres.
The Hanok village is also interesting and has great restaurants.
Our room had a beautiful view over the lake with a balcony. It was large, with two comfortable chairs and table by the sliding door. The hotel had a food court offering choices such as Korean, Japanese, Italian and burgers. There was a large seating area for guests to sit once they had chosen their food options. We had room service and it was very good. You need a taxi or your own car for touring the area. We enjoyed this lakeside hotel for the tranquility and gorgeous view. The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
Surprisingly good hotel, probably geared to business originally, but excellent also for tourists. Short walk to all the attractions in Gyeongju, and right next to the express bus station, but no discernible noise from it. Staff were very friendly although had limited English. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of Korean and European foods; both hot and cold.
Little house with everything you need. The lady who took care focus was friendly and helpful, did some phone calls to organize our dinner, called a taxi and so forth. Great hospitality. Located in a real Korean neighbourhood, so much better than a standard hotel!
Friendly staff. Close to a few tourist spot. Room was clean and shower head pressure was the best compared to the other hotels that I stayed during my trip in South Korea. Breakfast was simple with a variety of fruits. There is also a convenient store nearby.
This was my favourite hotel during my stay in Korea. This hotel definitely has the most bang for bucks. If I were to come back to gyeongju I would stay here again. Spacious, cheap, bathtub, big tv, netflix, big comfortable beds, close to bus station.
