We HAD TO change rooms: the first room was unbelievably noisy because of disfunctional airco and other loud apparatus on the roof. Moreover the room had a distinct ‘smell’: a combination of something ugly and roomspray. Suffocating.
The second room was really good! The hotel team was great though!

We go to Visalia for a convention.
We go to Visalia for a convention. The home was not the blue cottage as there was a last minute problem with the dates we stayed at the Retro modern Home. It was lovely. Very roomy. Close to Convention Center and close to shopping. The Black Bear Diner was very close.

Nice place we stayed on our road trip heading to Sequoia...
Nice place we stayed on our road trip heading to Sequoia park. A little noisy because it was next to a main road, but ideal to get to and set off the next morning. The pool was nice and the area around it was lovely to relax after a long day of driving. It could be accessed by the back door of all the bedrooms and there were benches to sit on. Would go again. I don't think there were many cheaper options than this when we were searching.

Close to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.
Close to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon. Visalia is a wonderful little town with fun diners and cafes. Good time diner is a 50’s theme restaurant with fabulous food at great prices. There is also Granny’s cafe with tasty breakfasts in an old time setting. Mama K’s is a very popular Resturant with the locals located in a stick yard auction building.

Stayed in Visalia to visit both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Although it was a great hotel it was farther than expected to both parks. And, once you arrived at the park entrances, the drive in to the sites was very far. I would recommend staying in the parks if possible. Visalia downtown was cute with many dining options and breweries.

I love a hot cup of tea before going to sleep and a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Miss not having a coffee pot in the room. Since I come to visit my family I don’t need a plush room so this works well. Checking in was quick and simple, thank you to staff.
Staff was helpful and very accommodating. I needed to change rooms (nothing to do with the quality, I had a sprain and couldn’t walk as far), and they were immediately responsive and took care of it. The room was clean and comfortable.
I had dinner in the hotel restaurant, California Cafe, and was completely blown away by the dinner I had. I had a smoked salmon sandwich that I’m still thinking about. I’m thinking about another stay soon with my family since they also offer shuttle service to Sequoia.
We were ripped off....BAD EXPERIENCE!
Consider this: You go for a weekend vacation to spend all the day at the Sequoia. You want a place to sleep, shower, stay close to the park. You are placed in a room that some workers from the hotel are performing at "odd hours". You are going to bed at 11PM and they are walking back and forth in the room upstairs like they are on cocaine and making fall some heavy stuff to the floor.
Visalia seems to be a relatively lively town in the Central Valley, near the southern entrance to Sequoia National Park. Although the hotel seems designed for proximity to the Visalia Convention Center, most guests were (like me) park visitors. There were lots of families taking advantage of the spacious suites. Lots of dining choices in close proximity.
Made arrangements ahead of time , a month, because I needed to reserve ahead of 3PM , for my medical hospital stay leg of trip to airport. Hotel staff, they were not prepared for me, gave me a dirty room, which I complained and was given another room after 3 PM. There are biting fleas in the Air.
Staff was friendly and helpful. They accommodated our request for early check in. I greatly appreciated this. Thank you.
The room was clean, nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable.
For 2 women traveling with a dog we felt safe.
Convenient to shopping and restaurants.
The room was clean & comfortable, it had two beds & an en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was good & the staff were friendly and helpful.
We chose the hotel because it was convenient for us, we were on our way to King’s Canyon and wanted to break up the journey.
Lovely rooms that smelled newly cleaned and looked the part. Nice breakfast options and the location of the hotel was close to more or less everything that we needed. Effective and nice staff that was ready to help us and answer whatever questions we had!
Unfortunately we needed some medical assistance and the lady at the frontdesk helped us with good information. Everything worked out fine. The hotel is close to the freeway, has good parking and lots of extra's, which we didn't use.
Helpful staff. Room comfy. Nice breakfast- even better if there would be a variety of fruit. (I note fruit options have been poor in many of the breakfasts at hotels we used in California)
Enjoyed making ourselves fresh waffles.
No breakfast. The hotel was dirty, the room smelled like urine. We didn’t sleep because of the smell and checked out at 6 am just to get out of there, so not a good experience.
Before we book a room I read reviews. This hotel met our expectations. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. I would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
Good location to go to Sequoia. Spacious room, helpful front desk staff and good breakfast. Close to restaurants and gas stations, especially with a car.
