A perfect place for a couple, especially if you have a car (on the other hand, you may reach Vichten with a public bus which is, of course, free in Luxembourg). The room is very spacious, clean, well-equipped (including a coffee machine), the area is quiet, there is a balcony. There is a bakery and a grocer's store in the same building. The staff is very friendly and helpful. To sum up, we really recommend the hotel. We liked it so much that we came back here once again a few days later. You will not regret it either!

A very nice and friendly place to spend a few nights. The rooms are clean, air-conditioned, well-equipped, the staff is very polite and friendly. It is a very good option if you wish to explore the city of Luxembourg or other places in the country: there is a railway station nearby, and the trains and public busses are completely free within the country! If you arrive by your own car, the parking may be crowded during the evening times when the restaurant is full. But still, you may try leaving your car at a public parking place at the railway station, and moving it closer to the hotel when more parking places are available. To sum up, highly recommended!

After being warmly welcomed by the staff, I entered one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The bed was dreamy. I was lucky enough to pour a table in the restaurant, Cristallerie, where I enjoyed the chefs tasting menu. It was an experience. I will never forget well worth the visit on all count!

Beautiful and historic little city in a gem of a nation.

Beautiful and historic little city in a gem of a nation. We loved walking around the old town and enjoyed the natural beauty. It's easy to forget that Luxembourg exists next to Germany, France and Belgium but it's worth checking out. All public transportation is free in Luxembourg City which means you don't need a car to visit or pay parking fees.

The chateau museum, exhibition and tour was fantastic. Highly recommend taking the time to see the exhibition before touring the chateau. We also took the chairlift up to the high viewing point and had a few drinks. Not the cheapest but nowhere in Luxembourg is cheap. The views were great and it was worth the trip. We also visited the newly refurbished open air swimming pool which the kids loved and added a bit of relaxation to the trip. It was very clean and well maintained. The town itself has plenty of bars and restaurants to sample during a short stay, especially the ones with views over the river

Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.

I wasnt there long, an overnight stop with a morning walk into the town. The petrol prices were pretty reasonable and there was a decent supermaket and mini mall at the bottom of the town. If staying for a short break I would probably get a hotel in Luxembourg City, as although all transport in the country is free its stops at 2300. Also to be fair I was there on a Monday night so maybe its a bit livelier at weekends?

    Wilz. What a disappointment.

Wilz. What a disappointment. For such a large town in the Ardenne with all its great country trails and forests around, the town has little to offer except being a base to sleep. It feels very functional and food choices ae limited. It's high spots are the chateau grounds and its Battle of Bulge museum, some other gardens and a memorial tower, but plan for less than 1/2 day. Sports facilities are a plus point too - not that you'll need extra fitness - streets are steep. For one solid memory, head west out of town to the National liberation memorial at the Schumanns Eck crossroads. It recognises the allies liberation of the area in late 1944-45 through a 3km installation trail of 65 life-size silhouettes images of real US and German soldiers and civilians present during the Ardennes offensive. Go early and in eerie silence appreciate your freedom.

Also Olivier is a great doglover and he give our dog some special dogfood, that was a nice surprise for our dog . all the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much for them if you want something. The city is a mixture of old and new architecture, with a nice and vibrant old city, and a newer side of the city which looks like any other European big capital. Free transportation makes it easier to commute from everywhere, but to be honest, two days is already too much for what Luxemburg offers in terms of touristic attractions. Main attraction (on paper) is the old castle, which underground corridors could be visited, but in all honesty could be better preserved and guided tour being a requirement to understanding the history behind the walls.
