Hello, I try to check at 7:30PM it was automatic check-in system but it says "rooms are not ready" so I had to wait more than an hours. I tried to check in 8:30PM again, system said "Rooms are not ready" so I had to call number written at reception. Luckily person got phone call (after trying several times) and said that their system is somehow not working and 'with balcony room I booked is sold out" and he gave an 404 room without balcony. So I checked in after waiting about 90 minutes and got into room but room had no air-conditioning or even a fan so I walked out and called reception again and he said he will refund money but they haven't refund it yet. It was worst experience! Please refund hotel charges I paid with my credit card Thank you

    The Lars Lerin art gallery has beautiful paintings of Swedish landscapes by him. Boat trips from Innre Hamn (Inner Harbour) take you on trips out to islands and around town on the river for the price of a bus fare. Only in the summer months though. Walk along the river for beautiful views, see the old church, town hall etc. Plenty of cafes and restaurants especially around the town square. Have a coffee on the Stadshotell roof terrace with lovely views across the river.

    Second visit to Karlstad and both times have been too short. There is a lot to see, especially around the cultural area, including the Värmlands Museum and Sandgrund Lars Lerin. And pleasant strolls along the river and canals.

    Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to visit. What other city with <100,000 population even has its own opera house and cathedral? The lakeside setting where Klarälven meets Lake Vänern is gorgeous. There's lots to see and do within the city, even as it is very human-sized and walkable.

    Absolutely chill out place. Quiet area, beautiful walks around, perfect facility, close to beach, useful reception with convenient shop, lovely cute cottage with everything what you need for a stay. Very good atmosphere….

    A small-big town with many cozy coffee places and great restaurants. The architecture is beautiful and the town is built in a comfortable way so you get to be in many parks and river along with shopping centers and places to eat. The people of the town were friendly and helpful which was really nice.

    Our experience at this hotel was positive. The hotel is located in a unique setting – inside a sports hall – which made for a fun and different atmosphere. Everything inside and outside the room was clean and pleasant, and the breakfast area really stood out: stylish, spacious, and offering a diverse and tasty selection of food. A particularly nice touch was being able to watch hockey practice through the windows while enjoying breakfast – a memorable and enjoyable detail.
