Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem!
Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem! It is mainly a student city and I was there for a conference, so I got the full academic vibes, but the town itself is beautiful! The centre is almost exclusively very aesthetically pleasing neo-classical architecture, there are many café and restaurant options around, and the locals are kind and welcoming. It really feels like a city that is proud of itself and its heritage, and is happy to show it!Guest review byMargaritaSweden - 10.0
The hostess was great.
The hostess was great. They provided additional information regarding a tour of the castle and the area. The breakfast menu was provided the evening before and it was extensive. I checked off just about everything on offer and then worried it would be too much, but the portions were adjusted accordingly, and thus I was delighted to have been able to taste all of what was offered. As for the area...restful.Guest review byJAANCanada - 10.0

This can be dubbed the garden town of Estonia (which in itself could be named the garden country of Europe). Every detached house has an immaculate garden with lots of flowers in the summer and the town government does not save pennies on making streets floral and beautiful. There are small and larger forests in the neighbourhood and there are two small beaches bordering natural lakes in the town centre. For those looking for vibrant nightlife, this is not the place to be. From Elva you can take the train or bus to Tartu from the 19th century wooden train station. In the other direction, the train goes to Valga from where you can travel onwards into Latvia. Overall, i would think that 3 days is about right to explore Elva (and its excellent small scale restaurants) and the surroundings.Guest review byLeoDCBelgium - 10.0

Pretty, friendly city, lively on a Satruday evening due to its large student population. Plenty of history and architecture to see, lots of scuptures and other art. Boat trip on river, lots of riverside bars and music.Guest review byS RUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very tidy city.
Very tidy city. Old town is compact, with a lot of areas to sit in and enjoy the day/evening. Really loved the river side with all the bars and places to sit. Best to travel by feet or bolt scooters.Guest review byLindaLatvia
