- From $135.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,799 reviewsAn amazing location right at the heart of the old town, located in an old building but sporting an elevator yet (not something you see often in hotels located in such places), with bars and restaurants aplenty in 30-sec walking distance. The room was huge for its price, and you get your own private sauna to enjoy (although you'll have to take turns if there are more than two of you, it's small). Comfortable bed, nice sofa, two WC's, espresso machine with free capsules, and a continental breakfast included in the price - it's a huge value for its money.Guest review byEVGENIIIsrael
- From $145.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 403 reviewsWonderful guesthouse located in a small village right on the lake. Very easy to get to. Plenty of attractions in the area. The owner is a great lady. She is friendly, helped us with the suggestions on the local sightseeing, speaks several languages. The breakfast is great. There is an open bar at the house, you can take if you need anything and pay later. You can play pool (billiards) and other games. The house is very safe, clean and comfortable.Guest review byBorissEstonia
- From $128.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 9,266 reviewsI love that it was just across the bus station. When I got off the bus from Tallinn, I just walked and crossed the street and was able to check in immediately. They have really good breakfast. My room was a good size and I had the river view. Very comfortable bed. I could walk to Old Town in 10 minutes. You can take a boat trip right on the river dock for an hour or more as an activity to do. The restaurants along the river are really close by.Guest review byStella_lovestowanderUnited States
- From $186.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 2,489 reviewsThe Lydia Hotel is truly a gem. Exceptional in every sense, it impressed on multiple levels. The architectural design, thoughtful layout, and stunning interior decor were simply brilliant, with even the lighting reflecting impeccable attention to detail. Every meal, whether dinner or breakfast, was an absolute delight, making the culinary experience as memorable as the ambiance.Guest review byPaulSwitzerland

Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem!
Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem! It is mainly a student city and I was there for a conference, so I got the full academic vibes, but the town itself is beautiful! The centre is almost exclusively very aesthetically pleasing neo-classical architecture, there are many café and restaurant options around, and the locals are kind and welcoming. It really feels like a city that is proud of itself and its heritage, and is happy to show it!Guest review byMargaritaSweden - 10.0
The hostess was great.
The hostess was great. They provided additional information regarding a tour of the castle and the area. The breakfast menu was provided the evening before and it was extensive. I checked off just about everything on offer and then worried it would be too much, but the portions were adjusted accordingly, and thus I was delighted to have been able to taste all of what was offered. As for the area...restful.Guest review byJAANCanada - 10.0

This can be dubbed the garden town of Estonia (which in itself could be named the garden country of Europe). Every detached house has an immaculate garden with lots of flowers in the summer and the town government does not save pennies on making streets floral and beautiful. There are small and larger forests in the neighbourhood and there are two small beaches bordering natural lakes in the town centre. For those looking for vibrant nightlife, this is not the place to be. From Elva you can take the train or bus to Tartu from the 19th century wooden train station. In the other direction, the train goes to Valga from where you can travel onwards into Latvia. Overall, i would think that 3 days is about right to explore Elva (and its excellent small scale restaurants) and the surroundings.Guest review byLeoDCBelgium - 10.0

Pretty, friendly city, lively on a Satruday evening due to its large student population. Plenty of history and architecture to see, lots of scuptures and other art. Boat trip on river, lots of riverside bars and music.Guest review byS RUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very tidy city.
Very tidy city. Old town is compact, with a lot of areas to sit in and enjoy the day/evening. Really loved the river side with all the bars and places to sit. Best to travel by feet or bolt scooters.Guest review byLindaLatvia
