Beautiful location, room and facilities were basic, but clean. The hosts were friendly and t hey organised all the activities. Options for food was limited, but always good. Tangkahan is a little gem, out of the beaten paths where you feel you have the jungle for yourself. Seeing the elephants in their habitat and walking with them in the jungle was exceptional. The value for the price was great.

The place is very beautiful, on the edge of a clear river, the atmosphere is still natural and not too touristic. Febby (staff) was very friendly and helpful, Nanta (the guide) was very experienced, He took us through the forest and saw wild orangutans. Staying at Bua Guesthouse Tangkahan was a amazing experience.

We went as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They arranged our transport from and to the airport, as well as our trekking into the park. The guide was excellent and we had an extra assistant to help with the kids who was also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend booking all these extras through them. It is a beautiful setting on the river. The cabin was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. They can serve food and have cold drinks for sale. The children really enjoyed playing on the rocks and swimming in the river. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

Good WiFi and comfortable bed, AC worked slow but got the room cool eventually. The hammock on the porch was lovely and I spent much time there. Andri helped arrange transport to/from and a jungle trek via WhatsApp. Food was available from the restaurant during regular hours with a nice view of the river.

I loved my stay here and honestly wish I could have stayed longer. The room was the perfect size for me as a solo traveler but I think would be fine for a couple who don't mind a cozy space. The a/c was perfect, the bed was very comfortable, and the hot water in the shower was plentiful. The balcony was quite spacious, and I made good use of the hammock. It was also really nice to have a fan outside. The private entrance was surprisingly nice to have, even though I don't normally look for this. Also, the location is convenient to trekking headquarters, though the accommodation itself offers great trekking packages. This was one of my favorite places to stay during a five-week trip in Sumatra.

The very kind staff were the best part of the stay. The restaurant is also lovely, with a very nice layout and decent food. There was hot water for the shower, and an old but functional mosquito net for the bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Conveniently located near popular trekking headquarters, as well as offering their own trekking services. Situated on the bank of the river, which makes it easy to walk down to it for a swim or a stroll.

Best place to stay in Bukit Lawang!! Beautiful location right on the river, surrounded by nature and beautiful views, a retreat from the busy-ness of town. It is only a short motorbike ride into town, and you can walk ~10 mins to get to an alfamart/indomaret. I did 2 days jungle trekking with Andi who was a great guide. We saw lots of orangutans and other wildlife, and he shared a lot of great information about the jungle. I went with a group and he was very attentive with the guests and everyone's different needs and comfort levels with the hiking. Dika, Dedek, and the rest of the family were so friendly and happy to answer any questions or help with anything, and make an amazing breakfast which is included. Andi arranged a car to and from the airport. Wifi was functional most of the time, which was helpful because I spent a lot of time working remotely in the restaurant. Bed in my room was very firm and comfortable, which is important to note because some different guesthouses where I've stayed have had very squishy, sinking beds. Bathroom has good showerhead water pressure, a western style toilet, and bidet. They provide toilet paper if needed. Towels also provided. Screens on windows prevent mosquitos from getting inside, and there is a fan inside the room for when it gets hot. Overall, a beautiful place to stay and a family business that makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

Wonder place to stay for our Jungle trekking adventure. The staff was so kind and helpful. Loved the macaque monkeys passing through the hotel property. There is only cold water showers which were refreshing. To get to your room you must climb steep stairs that were beautifully made of stone.
