We noticed a water refill station next to elevators, so that is convenient. The parking is tight so maneuver carefully if you park onsite. convenient location behind the major Chamonix restaurants and stores and 5 minute direct walk to lift to the mountain. We missed time going to the top of mount Blanc due to weather and made the best by visiting the ice tunnel, but did get to drive to Annecy and rent a boat. Highly recommend doing that if you have time because the water is so clean (little cool), but really beautiful and worth it. I was in the U.S. Coast Guard and have seen many bodies of water, but that lake is gorgeous and much cleaner and less crowded than lake Como for example. We also drove to Zermatt which the town was very cool, but the Matterhorn is overrated and super expensive; $850 US dollars for a family of 5!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. breakfast has a orange juice squeezing machine, so nice to actually drink real orange juice.

A very scenic little town, though maybe a little expensive in some places. Almost every corner you turn, you'll enjoy a nice view, and the streets are nice to wander around. It's not a very big place, so if you're physically able, it's easy to get around on foot. If you're staying outside the town centre and you're going out late, carry a torch – some paths can get quite dark. Taking a cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi is worth the price, with some breathtaking views of Mont Blanc (be prepared for the altitude – it feels very disorienting if you're not used to it). The Mer de Glace is also a nice excursion, but it's very sad to see how much of the glacier is now gone thanks to climate change. There are some fantastic restaurants to stop at. I recommend L'Index for something upscale (ask the waiters about all the local produce they use) and La Fine Bouche serves an excellent dinner. For something more casual, head to Arcus Coffee for brunch or Yak for some Nepalese cuisine (order the momo dumplings!).

Very touristy, but for good reason.

Very touristy, but for good reason. A great destination for introducing the teenagers to outdoor / high mountain activities. The Monte Bianco skyway from the top of the Aiguille du Midi cable car was the highlight of the trip, especially that the cars were paused several times on the crossing so that we got time to take in the scenery. Booking of the Aiguille ascent is necessary in advance though, and buy the skyway tickets once you’re at the top. We made good use of the free train in the valley, which was ideal for getting around.

Beautiful city with many options of sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. City bus and train are easy to navigate and quick access to many more options. There fondue at Le Monchu was spectacular and we had the best view of the mountain! Breakfast of fresh omelets was delicious at Rose du Pont surrounded by beautiful flowers, the sound of the stream and view of the mountain. We were happily surprised to take in the fresh farmers market on Saturday. Figs the size of your fist and any other fruit, vegetable and meat (cooked and fresh) were on sale. Bonus were vendors with Italian leather purses, fabric, local goods and a whole lot more.

There are so many natural wonders at Chamonix Mont Blanc, we loved the Aguile Du Midi cable car and the mazing views it afforded us, we also loved taking the trams both at St Gervais and the Mer De Glace… amazing to see inside a Glacier you really just give it a go. Shops in the town centre offer everything you need from clothing, equipment, souvenirs, dining and supermarkets… you reallly couldn’t ask for anymore.

If you're not here for downhill skiing when it's winter and snowy, then you're here probably for other sports things like serious mountain biking, or serious hiking and climbing experiences. IF, on the other hand, you're an ordinary tourist enthralled by the amazing Chamonix mountains, you're here to do the Aiguille du Midi experience, which is the cable car/s ride up the mountain to see the glaciers and the amazing view of the mountains and glaciers at the top, which you access by two different cable car ride. (It's sister experience if the Mount Blanc experience from the other side in Italy.) Though it was unusually warm down below, be aware that it can get chilly at the top. Some guide book told me that to prepare and take warmer clothes. Thankfully, we all did that. It was chillier at the top. But beautiful. There is a nice mid-way terraced restaurant which has sandwiches, paninis and all the drinks and sweets etc. We went up around 10 am and got back down from top around noon, where we enjoyed the sun, the view, the crows.

Staff were fantastic and very friendly. Gave us a tour of the property including the hot tub and restaurant/bars. Gorgeous scenery of Mont Blanc from the room. Food in the restaurant was delicious and a great selection for breakfast. The room was beautiful with comfy beds and AC. There was plenty of parking available, including room for motorbikes. The hotel is on the outskirts of Chamonix, so it was nice and quiet but only a 10/15min journey into the centre.

The location La Praz is ideal if you don’t want to be in Chamonix town. Bus stop to Chamonix right by the property. The gondola to Flegere close by, happy hour in the hotel next door! A nice walk along the river to Chamonix. So the location was perfect for us for a summer stay. The apartment was comfortable and the basics provided. Parking was also secure and easy.
