The setting of this chateau is absolutely stunning and the staff were extremely kind and showed us to our room, explaining everything. My husband walked around the woods during the afternoon.. and found a river where people were swimming.. and I sat under a tree and read my book in the adorable guests garden. I was also able to get a beer from the "Plage de Portales". Our room was very comfortable, clean and traditional and we had a wonderful breakfast in the beautiful dining room.

Great hotel in a historic location - a converted stables. A Michelin restaurant is attached, but we didn't dine there. Our room was quiet, with direct access to their large, comforable courtyard. A huge bonus was their spa and fitness area (with Hamam and large pool), access to which was included in our room fee. They had a 2-tier breakfast. A more elaborate one (which I usually don't need) and a simple one with all the French necessities: fresh croissant, pain au chocolat, baguette - coffe and fresh(!) orange juice. All in all not cheap for France but beyond worth the price. Oh, and even our dog had a welcome snack and her own water dish waiting in the room (we announced a pet in advance), Staff was very welcoming.

The building was in a perfect location just between the tram stop and Rivetoile (a shopping mall where we did all our grocery etc. shopping) The apartment was so cozy, spacious (for 2) with lots of closet space. We found it spotless clean. The kitchen included all essential equipment. The view & terrace were lovely. There were numerous restaurants we frequented just at the opposite side of the building. We hope to stay there each time we visit Strasbourg from now on.
