The city has a good balance of tradition and modernity, town-ness and urbanisation. Trivandrum has a intimate scale that will appeal to people from large cities, where you can get to one end of the city to another in under an hour. Main roads are just rightly sized, pretty organised and traffic are disciplined compared to most cities in the country. The city is also super clean and tree lined in most parts of central area. Nettor back water safari for 1hr is high 3400/- for 4. Need to negotiate further. Mattancherry palace is better with a guide. Katthakali show 600 pp is worth watching with their makeup n dressing. Adventure park , glass bridge and garden all are good to spend a day here. It would be better if u visit during dec-Jan period when you can experience some cool climate. Please avoid this places during christmas and onam holidays , as is tend to be crowded and u wouldnt be able to enjoy. Days will be hot, you can experience cold during nite and mornings.
