The staff. That is to say, the one and only staff member Bette. Our cook and clean and to badly communicate with :) We loved her and her tribe of kids. She even dispatched her eldest Ana to guide us down to the beach and back for the day. Quiet and peaceful, way off the beaten track. As with on Sao Tome, fantastic bird life!

The owner speaks English and organized a boat tour for us to baia das Agulhas. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The AC works well. The location is good in town within walking distance of everything. You can get simple meals there if you order in advance. Breakfast is included. He takes visa card. Free pickup and dropoff at the airport was included.

Principe Island is paradise -- the beaches are pristine and just amazing. Casa Salamao is a gorgeous and delightful little spot with an amazing garden and wonderful view. Just sitting on the deck was refreshing. The kitchen is small, but adequate. You also have use of a refrigerator. The water in the shower was super hot, which was nice. Also, the wifi was quite good and relatively fast and reliable (when there was electricity). The host is quite responsive, too.
