I loved the charm of the rooms, quality and cleanliness of the bathrooms. I also appreciated the staff at the Boutique Sint Jacob. We opted not to have our rooms cleaned as we only stayed for a night and the following day/night, so the staff we met was in the kitchen. We didn't choose the breakfast option, but we did meet them when making inquiries. The two individuals we met, were very welcoming, and helpful.

It is a lovely boutique hotel, located on the main square of the city. My room was on a separate building on the rear, large and very quiet, which I appreciated. In the room there was everything I needed and it was possible to control the heating. Breakfast was really excellent, although it was not included in the rate.

What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands!
What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.

A grand historic location not overrun by tourists.
A grand historic location not overrun by tourists. Loved not having seen huge tour busses and gobs of people following your standardised tour guidess. One doesn't have to walk far to 'get lost' in quite narrow allayes without any tourists. I was actually surprised how peaceful the town was and we did visit it on a weekend. Hance the lack of tourists, maybe that is why it was so clean? The city also offers a pleasant shopping experience. The stores are nicely spread out in numerous streets, so that you can combine a historic tour with the occasional peek in a strore. Loved the city and would gladly return.

Maastricht is a hidden treasure and should be on everyones list to visit. The tours of the underground tunnels, the history of the town itself are all fascinating. The architecture is soooooo old and captivating, everywhere you look is history. You can walk anywhere around this beautiful little town and be awed by its beauty. The restaurants we tried were terrific and the staff full of characters and openly friendly people. I loved it. I will be coming back one day.
Breakfast is excellent; from English breakfast to Continental breakfast with fresh fruit, self to bake waffles and a great variety of bread and cereals. Room is standard not very modern but decent for a 4 star hotel with sufficient international TV channels and a spacious bathroom who could do with a more modern touch. Location for our purpose was great next to the MECC centre and the University Hospital. The city centre is on the other side of the river about 15 min walk.
The location was amazing. The hotel is located in the center of the city and less that a 2 min walk from an underground parking garage. We made our reservation at the last min and the hotel staff welcomed us and insured a speedy and pleasant check-in. We left early in the morning so we did not eat breakfast at the hotel but the spread looked amazing. My wife and I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Maastricht.
It is an old property but well maintained by a very courteous staff. The rooms are big and clean.
Breakfast is highly recommended and the spread is sumptuous. Located next to the Maas river and very close to the old city centre, it is an ideal place to stay with the family. While the hotel does not have free parking, the paid parking close to the hotel is excellent.
Don't understand the previous reviews. The room is small but larger than most in Paris and for sure NYC. Especially at this price. The hotel and room is a steal for the pricepoint! The room is clean and the bed is far more cozy than other hotels in Maastricht. Breakfast was great and the hotel is very clean and staff is friendly

Was the first time I came to Maastricht and was unsure about where to stay, Hotel Monastère was a good choice, the room is clean, the utilities of the room were very nice, and the staff was also fine. The hotel is very close to the centrum, monumental places and shops which makes the walk easier and the stay better.
The location was superb. So much green surrounding the hotel. A lot of quiet. A lot of spaces to do a picnic. The castle is beautiful, very well decorated. Good breakfast. Close enough to the city centre. Bikes are at your disposal. An awesome place to stay if you have kids.
Ideally placed for the train station in a very nice part of Maastricht and within walking distance of the town centre. The staff were very polite and friendly especially Luka who could not have been more helpful. We had room 3 which was huge and at the trout of the hotel.
We stay in Maastricht quite often. Finally found a decent alternative to the hotel where we used to stay often before. Beautiful view of the lake with ducks from the room, quite acceptable breakfasts. Parking is included in the price, which is a rarity for Maastricht.
The location is ideal just over the bridge and in a little shopping oasis. The hotel staff were excellent and the room was superb. We really enjoyed the bar and the facilities and it’s proximity to the centre of Maastricht.
Everyone at reception was very helpful and the room was extremely clean. The mattress was nice and comfortable and the location of the hotel is excellent, you're right in the city centre and everything is easily accessible.
The hotel is conveniently located to city centre.
The rooms interior is beautiful and the room itself is spacious with a big comfortable bed, my husband and I loved the bath tub.
The breakfast is also wonderful!!
Domien and his wife were very welcoming and helpful.
The apartment is about a 10 min walk to Maastricht city centre. If you are going to a concert at the MECC, there’s a direct bus which takes 10 mins.
Hotel is in walking distance to the city Centre, in a hip industrial building. Very quiet room with plenty daylight & nice view. Extremely comfortable bed. Very clean room. Super friendly staff.
we had a big room in this hotel perfectly situated in a side street in the centrum of Maastricht. easy to walk everywhere. great owner and staff. friendly and helpful. thank you Jules!!
The perfect location in the heart of Maastricht city. Near the train station and also to the city centre with a lot of restaurants options around. Very friendly and helpful staff.
