Staff here were very helpful, even though we could not speak Canadian French [only Swedish and German and English, for us.] and they were the most helpful of all of the businesses we visited, except for Café Bistro la Brûlerie. Loved the location in the rebuilding area after the 2013 disaster. Loved that it was close to the lovely waterfront park where we set up to watch the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. Very clean throughout. Comfortable mattresses. Smaller room but well organized to be completely useable. Easily walkable to all of the statuary around the perimeter of the previously burned-out section of town and to all of the commercial and residential buildings being added back to this area. We enjoyed our view over the park and onto the lake and Mont Megantic beyond the far shore. Choose rooms on second or third floor with room numbers #02 thru #016. We had a great time in the town and will come back again.
Just 1.2 mi from the center of Lac-Mégantic, this hotel features an on-site restaurant and bar. A flat-screen TV with cable channels is included in each guest room.

The gentleman who greeted us was wonderful. He was friendly, answered our questions, and helped us make dinner reservations in the restaurant. The food was delicious. The person I traveled with had salad with salmon steak. She said the salmon was delicious! Even though the motel was full, it was quiet.

Very nice deco! it is like a mini museum with a lot of cool handmade art.

Lovely waterfront park and marina overlooking Mont Megantic beyond the far shore. Many sculptures installed around the perimeter of the 2013 disaster. Lovely memorials for those who died in the disaster. There is a lovely wooden observatory tower halfway down the east side of Lac Megantic, the lake. We visited for the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse.

First, the positive:
First, the positive:
The owners did a sensational job clearing the land, erecting the new hotel, and all
is brand new. Top marks for cleanliness, mint new equipment. Breakfast staff super, excellent
and included.
As to improvments: 1
) the passage for parking lot entrance and exit is identical 2)
shower head not flexible 3) toilet is single not dual flush ecological 4) washroom mirror is like a cosmetics
mirror at SDM Pharmaprix, with lights, no on-off for air-fan, shower head is not flexible, tiles are rubber,
linoleum, not ceramic expected in this price range 5) the elevator is industrial style, wide, as if designed for
crate and service functions, not people 6) a $50 outright charge added onto the invoice for mult days, not merely
an authorization on card for contingencies 7) the Danone mini-fridge is noisy 8) window locked, not allowing air
from park outside 9) price is $100 over competitor equivalent in Sherbrooke, due to monopoly.

If you’re looking for a low key vacation with lots to see (amazing amount of art sculptures) and do (boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, walking, etc.), this is a hidden gem. The people are mostly bilingual and very pleasant and helpful. They take great pride in honoring the 47 lost in Canada’s second worst train wreck and the rebuilding of the downtown where dozens of buildings and homes were destroyed. Beautiful flowers are everywhere. I took around 100 pics as there was so much to look at and see!

We've been in Mégantic twice: the first time as a young couple decades ago and the second time with our kids and each time we were seduced by the charm of the place. The friendly people and nature attractions is welcoming in these not-so-friendly troubled times. We strongly recommend going to Baie-Des-Sables for water equipment rental. It is close to city center and you can rent a pedalo for about 20$/hour that fits a whole family of 4. That will provide you with a nice time on the lake and its gorgeous scenery. Don't forget to add to your trip the visit of the Astrolab at Mont-Mégantic. The only downside is that the observatory is closed due to covid. Therefore no stargazing through Megantic's telescope this year. But you can still go the summit and see the observatory from the outside and admire the landscapes.

I was here due to work related activities but found some time to explore the area. It is very scenic with boundless farmland and forests. Large sugar maple production in the area and great for many outdoor activities.

It's a small town.
It's a small town. Half a day is enough to see the main attractions in the town itself. The lake is beautiful, there is a nice restaurant/small shops street in the center, and also several nice parks and playgrounds. But the real gems of the region are the mountains surrounding the town. A perfect place for mountain hiking.
The location was perfect and historic when one learns about the tragic train accident in 2013. The lake is two very short blocks from the hotel and every direction you walk when leaving the hotel, there are wonderful art sculptures making your walk even more enjoyable. The hotel staff were wonderful and took immediate care of any questions, issues or concerns.
The staff was very friendly and handle my late arrival with gusto. I enjoyed the quietness of the room as well as the quality of the bed and bedding. The layout of the room was comfortable and I would definitely stay there again next time I visit Lac-Mégantic.
Everything was excellent, including breakfast. Never expected such perfection in a small town hotel. I traveled around the world and stayed in many hotels, some good, some bad, some average, but this hotel was impeccable. I was really impressed.

A budget hotel done right. It's clear they've spent the money on the right things and haven't spent on extra stuff that wouldn't be needed/expected. The bed was super comfy and everything was clean.
The hotel is located right in the Center of Lac Megantic.
The fridge and microwave were useful for us!
Everything was very clean.
Including the breakfast was very appreciated.
The location is the best at Lac-Mégantic. The place was immaculately clean, and the staff was attentive and friendly. Parking was convenient, and the room was spacious.
Not a particularly beautiful hotel but great staff and installations, awesome breakfast. Snacks and microwave meals available on the spot. Nice location.
