I chose the Alwadi hotel because of it's location to the Souq Watiq. Also the marina was close by. Unfortunately the temp was over 40 deg so apart from a visit to the Souq Our sight seeing was a little curtailed. I visited the Souq early evening on my own. I didn't feel unsafe. So if you are a woman on your own and you dress respectfully you can walk thru the Souks quite safely. It's a very clean city. It is a beautiful city with stunning architecture. My favourite place was the Islamic Art Centre. Souq Waqif was also amazing especially the falcon hospital and getting to hold one of these magnificent birds. I did a city tour which I highly recommend. When you visit Doha, please make sure you don't visit in summer, because it will be very much hot. I'd recommend people to visit in cold months like from February to April. My favorite spots were: Souq Waqif, Corniche, Vendome Mall, City Center Mall, Katara Village, and Bagatelle beach. It is easy to get around Doha, using Uber, TaxiF, or Metros.
