The air was much more refreshen than Accra.

The air was much more refreshen than Accra. It was easy access to the Castle, other touristic sites and shorter distance to Kumasi. Getting around was by small taxis that was always available, fast but don't expect air condition.

The hotel itself was very nice.

The hotel itself was very nice. The staff and facilities were great. My only issue was that when you ask for something and are told,” No problem we can do that.!” you expect it to be done. Big let down.

Elmina is a fascinating little town - smaller and more compact that Cape Coast. Not at all touristy, quite the opposite. It's a locals town. Go to the fish market early in the morning to watch the boats come in loaded with the catch of the day!

The ocean is magnificent and the beaches are clean.

The ocean is magnificent and the beaches are clean. Visiting the Elmina castle which was one of the key centres of the slave trade for a few centuries was very moving. The Elmina market is completely authentic and very lively. There are other activities to do in the area.

I enjoyed the seas views and the sea breeze in my walkabouts. We enjoyed our visit to Elmina castle and nearby City Cape Cost has lots of restaurants and shops. However, the town Elmina is an old fishing town. Driving to the hotel has pot holes but it is not that bad. Once you reach the Golden Hill Parker hotel it’s a different world up on top of a hill. Elmina has good restaurants close to the castle and we twice lunch there food was tasty and good staff.
