The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly, especially the guys at breakfast. I was staying with my three year old and they were very sweet to her. I'd say the hotel was fine and I'd definitely stay again for a cheaper price. Excellent location for quiet walks on the beach, and beautiful sunsets. But... For the price we paid (almost 200 euro) it wasn't really anything special. Just totally fine.
Hotel Wienerhof is a family hotel providing basic accommodations close to the coastline. Sit out on the terrace when weather is nice and experience traditional hospitality and a friendly service.

Beautifully restored in a quiet neighborhood setting. The room was lovely—like a Vermeer painting but with modern, clean amenities. We’d had a cold day visiting Texel and ended it at the Crown in a cozy bed with a hot cup of tea. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented—the service attentive and delightful. A highlight of our trip to the Netherlands. Highly recommend!
Located close to the city center of Den Helder, Hotel Den Helder offers guests a beautiful winter garden, 12 bowling lanes and a midget golf course. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

location and ambience. Close to dunes and great host. Pity we had only one day stopover.
I liked the part of the city I managed to see. The reason I came, was because of the Tall Ship Race, so there were a lot of visitors and much of my time was spent related to the Tall Ship Race. I would like to come back to visit when it's a bit more quiet to see the town and surrounding areas.

The city is not as beautiful as the rest of the Netherlands, but it is a port city, probably because of that. It is worth staying here because you can easily get to Texel by ferry from here. Our accommodation was not in the city center, but close to the forest and the sea, in a perfect location for nature lovers. It’s worth checking out the Navy Museum (Marine Museum), not all of which were equally interesting, but the submarine, the ships, the mock-ups and some of the paintings are very special.

Just a business trip to the Marine Base for a couple of days. Luckily we saw the Lighting Festival here in Den Helder which was AMAZING. Cosy town but nothing special. Visit the restaurants near the West Street / Navy museum!

Amazing city in North of Holland.
Amazing city in North of Holland.
Super nice for a week-end getaway (although too short in my opinion) or a week vacation. Tons to do: bike rides, markets, beaches, walks in the dune. A lot of nice restaurants.
A lot of tourists in the summer though. Would recommend off season.

Totally underrated.
Totally underrated. It has such bad reputation, but I would strongly recommend that if you want to visit Texel, better stay in den Helder. Less touristy, incredibly friendly people and a great place to eat out.

This is a bucolic seaside town with a lot of history and personality. There was much more to see than we had time to do. It has the top-rated library in the world, in a beautifully restored old building.
Amazing location,
Beautiful view!
Loved the easy responses via e mail....
Close by to dunes with amazing views.
Taking the ferry ...by bike if your alone is worth the price...cheaper...great way to visit lically as well as for exercices.
In Texel...I recommend to bike to Oudeschild,
And visit the marina area as well as a Fort if you like along the way.
Beautiful seaside views...and from Den Helder dunes...amazing walkway above dunes or by the water...great to feel the wind and be by the ocean waves... not to forget sunset!
Hotel De Werf is dab smack in the middle of Den Helder. Perfect location to start exploring the region. Tons of good restaurant and museums are situated on the dock yards that used to serve the Royal Netherlands Navy.
Breakfast options were limited but they offered enough variety to have a good start into the day.
Just below the rooms is a bar (which also serves as the check in) that offers a good variety of beer. Best part was that we could take it back up to our room!
Our studio was quite spacious and had everything we could possibly need for New Years eve: a coffee machine, a water kettle, a stove, a fridge, a modern TV, comfortable beds and a large bathroom with two rainshowers. In addition, we could set the heating just right, which was important to really feel comfortable on that very rainy and windy day. Also, you can easily walk into the forest and dunes straight from the entrance of the hotel. Breakfast was great.

Warm & cosy apartment close to Den Helder restaurants, which are just a 10-15 minute walk. Spacious kitchen, dining, lounge area, with a large doubdle bedroom. Upstairs toilet and separate bathroom downstairs at the rear. There's a huge private balcony out of the bedorom patio doors that I'm sure would be fabulaous in warmer weather.
I liked it so much, I've just booked again for next week
The hotel is located in a nice little town perfect for tulip hunting. The hotel itself is very charming and has a lot of character to it. The owners also stay in the same building and are great hosts. The breakfast spread was excellent and the hosts took care of the arrangements personally.
Like going back to the 1970’s
The rooms were clean and comfortable
However the rest of the hotel was something out of 1972
Parking was great
But the price was totally unrealistic
For €50 pet night I would have given this a good review
For €140 then sorry this was poor value for money
The staff of the hotel was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was nice and big with a view over the main square. The breakfast was tasty with enough options to cover all tastes. The location is very central, near the train station and the ferry terminal.
Very accommodating, they asked when I wanted breakfast which was very nice in case if I slept in, the owner’s daughter checked me in and was very professional. The room was also very nice with a great view. My first stay in Europe was great due to the hotel.
absolute darling little 2-story apartment in Den Helder. beautiful marine decor makes this a cozy apartment. the stairs are very narrow and the apartment starts on the first story and the 2d bedroom is on the spacious attic (2 twin beds).
We had a very pleasant stay in family in the Forest Hotel, with our 2 kids.
Located very close to the rail and bus stations, and close to the city centre.
The staff is very helpful and nice!
The breakfast is great!
Quality boutique hotel. Well appointed but plain rooms furnished in an industrial theme. Quality shower and bathroom. Location very convenient to excellent restaurants.
Absolutely stunning property. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities you could wish for. Only a short walk from Den Helder centre and station. Perfect!
I did not like any thing in this hotel - i had to book it last minute because booking.com did not let me recall the other place i booked few weeks ago.
