Self-Catering Accommodations in Inokuchi

We had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse, ideal for anyone cycling the Shimanami Kaido. The area is peaceful and scenic, and it’s not too far from beautiful beaches and a local public bath, which was a great way to relax after a day of cycling while admiring the sunset. The host was very kind and welcoming, making our experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Excellent location, excellent host, excellent experience

Atsuko San welcomed us with a fresh towel and icy water after a long and hot day of cycling. We felt so welcomed. She let us select one of the restaurants that were open nearby and made a reservation before our arrival. The room was clean, fresh, and the bed was super comfortable. She gave us space. She speaks English very well. She made us a breakfast that was perfect for the rest of the road ahead 💪 she gave us advice on the road to take. Finally, she had several paintings of a Japanese artist, Fumio Kitaoka, that I discovered thanks to her. His woodblock work is beautiful. Thank you Atsuko 🙏

Very nice property. A great place to stay overnight when doing the bike trail. There was a place to hold our bikes, and the host was very gracious and kind. She made a dinner reservation for our group at a local restaurant called Veggie which was a great spot to eat after a day of riding (cash only). A/C in each room which was desperately needed in the late August heat. Would recommend it wholeheartedly to travellers looking for a place to stay.

This is a beautiful, comfortable renovated house in an authentic neighborhood with all the charm and amenities that really make you feel at home. We loved this home the minute we drove up the street and walked in the door. This is the experience we have been looking for in Japan, a real area with gardens, a shrine and the beach with the backdrop of the mountains and islands all around. The hosts were so great with communication and hospitality filling the fridge and cabinet with drinks and snacks to purchase so you don’t need to worry about shopping and begin to relax immediately. The house is just lovely and we loved cooking in the kitchen, taking a bath and even washing clothes if needed. This is the perfect location to have a car and drive to all the unique places around the island within 10-20 minutes. Including onsens with sea views, museums and the beloved shrine. Everything was perfect and a dream come true, tatami and all! Great design touches and so much love put into this home you can feel it and not want to leave. A must stay on Omishima!

Great location for a cycling stop on Shimanami Kaido. Spacious and comfortable.

The onsen was the best part, although the drain plug had to be secured very tightly and properly or else the onsen will take a very long time to fill. Futons were comfortable.

This place was a dream. Clean, spacious, and luxurious.

The property was great and cozy. It has AC inside so you will have no issues with cooling down in the summer. Inside was clean and tidy. I would stay here again only if the issue below was fixed.

The hosts were lovely and super helpful. You can tell they truly care about their guests and guest experiences. They have thought of every little detail possible for these units. Full kitchen with every appliance one could ever want, washer and dryer and so much more. Brand new units, clean and bright. Right across the road from a park and beach. They even had a garden planted between buildings for guests to help themselves too. Our host also shared some local oranges with us on check-in. We got talking and he even showed us his personal orange grove and introduced us to his wife who shared homemade sweets with us. Not saying they will be able to do that with each guest, but it sure was wonderful for our family connecting a little more authentically with local residents. Highly recommend.

The room was spacious all cladded in wood very clean, warm and welcoming. The kitchen was so well stacked it was fun to cook there. Everything we could need was there including the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There was a comfortable sofa and table and we had our private little cabin with even vegetables to use growing in the garden. The location was great just walking distance to the nice sand beach and also the bike rental where we started our ride along the Shimanami Keido. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. On our departure he showed us a beautiful small temple. That was a kind treat. The island is very beautiful too. We can very much recommend this place. We had the best relaxing time there.
