Renovated and modern. A great practical kitchen. Two bathrooms (rare in Japan in one house) - one upstairs and one downstairs. Nice comfortable furniture. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The house is also just a two minutes’ walk from the beach and there are lots of restaurants in the village. We didn’t have a car and it worked out just fine.

The property was beautiful! A restored old home in a quiet village just outside the city. We loved the architecture and the modern conveniences (like an updated shower and toilet) into such a beautiful home. The host was also so gracious, he met us in person to explain everything we needed to know. Absolutely would stay here again!

Overall the place served our needs well. The rooms are very modern and sleek and the check-in process was fairly smooth if not a little impersonal/cold. The beds are comfortable, but there isn't a ton of space to put your bags if you have more than two people. The hosts were fairly direct and impersonal with their responses, but were quick to reply and allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby (albeit unprotected) while we explored the town on check-out day.
