Bistro 1871 offers guests a relaxed and informal dining style and a real log fire is the centre piece of the traditionally furnished lounge, in which guests can enjoy a drink. A full English breakfast is served in the Oak Room Restaurant which features a conservatory with views across the Lake District fells. This was our third time staying here. We just love the relaxing atmosphere, the excellent food in the restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and provide a great service. We always go on Valentines weekend and it is never too busy, it can actually feel very exclusive in this regard. The fantastic spa completes the experience

Location was beautiful, so peaceful. Even the sounds of the cows was relaxing! We especially enjoyed the 2 friendly black cats who paid us a daily visit for pets. The property had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a perfect way to relax as well.

The little Granary is an amazing holiday home. Beautiful inside with everything we needed for our break. The location is amazing and the property was so lovely. Sitting outside in the hot tub looking out at the stars and shooting stars was so amazing. We would 100% visit again. Best place we have stayed at by far.

Fantastic outside space with enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog, and the hot tub was a nice treat after a long day of exploring. We booked last minute and felt that it was good value for money. The local area itself was fantastic with some lovely friendly places for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. The waterfall walk is right on the doorstep and not to be missed.
