General Manager K. Salamun graciously introduced himself and told me some of the history. The hotel is well-conserved, particularly the back area where little has changed since its 1910 inception. I had Room 050 near the Balinese spa (also enthusiastically recommended). Roaming the property is like travelling to another time. Although situated on a very busy street, all I heard in the morning was the garden fountain, birds and the Muezzin in the nearby mosque calling to prayer. The staff was uniformly gracious and alert. Excellent value. Recommended heartily for a stay in Surabaya.

Feel fresh. Restaurant is open air concept. Guest can enjoy the meals nicely and calm and the view is breathtaking. The hotel is just beside the sea and offered the view of Bali island on the side of Banyuwangi. Room was nicely done. Comfortable bed and very spacious. At night, guest can just sit at the balcony and enjoy the sound of the sea. Morning will be greet by the sound of the birds.
