Known as Madras during the British reign, Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu and India’s southernmost metropolis. It is located on the Bay of Bengal’s Coromandel Coast, boasting the world’s second-longest urban beach, Marina Beach, stretching for over 13 kilometres. Home to the Tamil film industry, Carnatic music festivals and temples dating back to the 7th century, the city is a thriving cultural centre with plenty to see and do.
Chennai offers impressive examples of art and architecture from different eras and cultures. Its most famous monument is the colourful Kapaleeshwarar Temple, dedicated to the Hindu god, Shiva. A few steps away lies the neo-Gothic San Thome Cathedral, built on the final resting place of one of Christ's apostles. Influences of the city’s colonial past can also be seen in some of its main buildings, such as the Gothic Revival Chennai Central, the busiest railway station in South India. For further insight into the country’s history, you can visit its first British fortress, Fort St George, housing St Mary's Church and the Fort Museum.
When in Chennai, kick-start your day with a freshly brewed cup of South Indian filter coffee, locally known as ‘kaapi’. Make some time to savour South Indian staples, traditionally served on banana leaves. Try dosa (rice and lentil crêpe), idli (steamed rice cake) and vada (savoury doughnut) served with sambar (a spicy broth) and an assortment of coconut chutneys. Thanks to its coastal location, the city also offers several delicious seafood preparations and fish curries.

Location is good.
July 31, 2022
Location is good. Rooms are big. But not cleaned. Slow check in process. Not well behaved by the staffs. Swimming pool was out of order. Value for money was not good. Breakfast items were not that rich like a five star hotel. Lobby was too noisy. No wellcome drinks were served. Baggage handling was slow and poor management. Conditions of drinking water bottles was not that standard, it could have been one time bottle rather than glass big bottles that was very difficult to handle by the children. Curtains were not cleaned for long time.
There for work.

There for work. Chennai has the charm of Detroit (it's a car manufacturing town) with the weather and beaches of Miami. Lots of temples to visit, lots of shopping especially less expensive shopping like Spensers Plaza. Other UNESCO sites 20 miles away...all very nice.
Chennai has lots to offer to tourists.

Chennai has lots to offer to tourists. One should spend enough time to realise what all the city has to offer. Beaches, temples and few near to Chennai areas like Pondicherry and Kanchipuram provide a unique experience

If your looking for something reasonable and on work this is a good place. We had ordered food from swiggy and vehicles on ola and there was no problem for them in finding this place. When we reached there it was late after 11 pm but Mr Esakiappan was very kind and made dosas for us ...which were very yummy with 2 different chutneys....He is a very kind host I must say.

City is not that clean, stray dogs all over, smell of dirt all over the Chennai. Never take autorickshaws, as they will take you all over the world to reach to your destination which may be half a km away. Though local people are helpful, when it comes to general quiries
