About El Nido

Including tips for the best time to visit El Nido

Surrounded by verdant cliffs and azure waters, El Nido in the Philippines is a coastal settlement complete with beaches, lagoons and palm-lined shores. From relaxing by the beach to participating in water sports and adventures – there are lots to do on this island.

Among all the places in El Nido, Las Cabanas is one of the most sought-after destinations boasting clear waters, golden beaches and rolling hills. If you wish to see the ocean’s contrasting hues, head to Big Lagoon – a postcard-perfect pool surrounded by lofty cliffs. The water here teems with marine life like fish and clams, thus making it an ideal spot for kayaking and snorkelling. For more places to kayak, stop at Small Lagoon – a quiet corner bordered by limestone cliffs peppered with patches of greenery.

While one of the most convenient ways to travel from Manila to El Nido is by a turboprop plane, the most pocket-friendly way is to catch a flight to Puerto Princesa and finally hop on a van to El Nido.

El Nido is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in the Philippines. I have been planning to go here since 2020 and I was so happy to have booked my stay via Booking.com because we really loved Nacpan Beach Resort. The property is right in front of the large stretch of beautiful Nacpan shore.

I would recommend to get the island tour at the town instead of purchasing it at the hotel where they charge you twice as much and the massage as well. For what we pay, which is 4600 pesos for two, you would think that the snorkling and kayak is already included. But that cost us another 500 pesos. We did the tour A, the only thing that we enjoy, is going to the big lagood. We snorkled the first time but it wasn't that great. Corals are all damaged, sure there are some fishes but I maybe coron or puerto princessa would be better.

One of the best travel if you're looking for an island adventure. water is clear, although some of the corals are dead, snorkeling and diving is highly recommended. Weather is fine although we went there on rainy season so rain is unstoppable. One of my favorite Island is the Cadlao Lagoon. The view is breathtaking. The price of the tour are the same among travel and tour agency there. Lunch is also provided by the tourist guide. I enjoyed a variety of seafood, meat and fruits. You should also bring some cash for the icecream and buko juice on the boat. :D Overall, 100% recommended.

Lovely Philippines

El Nido has great islands to visit.

July 15, 2022

El Nido has great islands to visit. Our favorite is the Big Lagoon. Our foreign guests even said it was really beautiful. Since we stayed near the inner city, we can move around to buy food for cooking at our place. Just be ready for the 6 hours drive.

El Nido: MUST VISIT! MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR BUCKET LIST! Deserved to be the number one place to visit in the world. Clear waters, awesome views, nice beaches, good food, friendly people, many accommodation to choose from (from the most affordable to high end rooms). The adventure of getting into the small hole to the cave and small lagoon is an unforgettable experience. We've visited Art Cafe and Gusto Gelato and we're very much satisfied. Getting around El Nido is easy. You can ride a tricyle at PhP20 per pax or hire a van. Just don't forget to bring a mineral water during boat tours.

Great place to visit if you love the sea.

Great place to visit if you love the sea. The surrounding beaches are easily accessible via boat tour, tuktuk/trike or scooter. We stayed for 6 nights and filled our time with lots of scuba dives, beach hopping and enjoying the chilled nightlife El Nido has to offer.
