Antalya is a popular holiday destination in Turkey, boasting miles of uninterrupted coastline and luxurious resorts. The city charms with its ancient ruins, while offering all the comforts of a modern metropolis.
Right in the heart of Antalya lies its old town, Kaleici (meaning ‘inner castle’). The one-square-kilometre area is a maze of cobblestone streets, Ottoman-style architecture and crumbling Roman ruins. It is best explored on foot, starting with the imposing Hadrian's Gate – a 2nd-century triumphal arch that served as a gateway to the ancient walled city. As you wander around, you’ll see the city’s many mosques, the Clock Tower and the old Roman Harbour, now a pretty marina decked with yachts. After a day of exploring, you can pause at any of the surrounding waterfront cafes to sip on some Turkish coffee and take in the stunning view.
Antalya sits on the Turquoise Coast, home to beaches framed by mountains on one side and the bright blue waters of the Mediterranean on another. For a sun-soaked afternoon, you can head to the pebble Konyaalti Beach or the sandy shores of Lara Beach.
On your Antalya trip, set aside some time to explore the Antalya Museum, boasting an impressive collection of archaeological treasures. When travelling with kids, Antalya Aqualand & Dolphinland and the stylish Antalya Aquarium promise hours of educational entertainment for the little ones. If you’re after a peaceful interlude amid nature, Düden Waterfalls and Kursunlu Waterfall Nature Park feature cascading falls set against lush green backdrops.

I cannot recommend this trip for a few reasons.
August 27, 2025
I cannot recommend this trip for a few reasons. The local people in Turkey are not very welcoming to tourists, especially Arabs. Additionally, the prices are outrageous, and it seems that everyone is trying to take your money. I have never encountered such high prices before. For example, at the airport, a meal at McDonald's or KFC, as well as at some branded restaurants, starts at $35. It's ridiculous.

Antalya is a beautiful and sunny destination. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially being in close proximity to the shopping mall and the food court upstairs at MarkAntalya. During my visit, I also went on a tour to Penge, Duden Waterfalls, and other historical sites. One highlight was seeing the first church in Antalya, as well as ancient ruins currently being discovered and restored by archaeologists. The weather in Turkey was extremely hot from sunrise onward, so I made sure to stay hydrated at all times. Let me know if you’d like this turned into a travel blog entry, postcard note, or social media caption!
It was unbearably hot in August.
August 19, 2025
It was unbearably hot in August. It doesn't matter if it's 7 in the morning or 10 in the evening - it is almost the same hell as at 3 p.m. We had a chance to see other parts of Antalya despite Caleichi, and it was bit disappointing: for a popular tourists city it has very dirty streets and slums in the center. Anyway, Antalya from Caleichi to the business center is an image of modern Tukiye. It is what it is. It was safe; the infrastructure is developed. Please be aware that Google Maps is not updated in terms of banks, money echange officies working hours and etc..
We really enjoyed our stay in Antalya.

We really enjoyed our stay in Antalya. The Falcon Hotel was spot on – it gave us everything we needed as a family. Whether you wanted quiet or lively, it had the perfect balance. Both children and adults could enjoy themselves at the same time, which made it ideal for us. The food was great, and everything overall was just perfect. Great Staff team work and very clean and comfort beds.
Antalya is very busy and bustling city.

Antalya is very busy and bustling city. Has everything you would expect from a holiday resort and more. As a traveller you always need to be wary of prices and bargaining was not as easy as it sounds as most shops and vendors were very good at what they do. Including taxi drivers. We at at a place called Donerci kebab and we're charged twice for the same meal. So always need to be on guard.
Just bloody everything but especially the hospitality shown...

Just bloody everything but especially the hospitality shown to us as Indians by the local Turkish people. Really appreciated their welcome to us. Many locals engaged with us discussing Bollywood songs they knew and could sing. Astonishing!
