Boasting garden views, The Karoo Moon House & Cottage provides accommodation with patio, around 35 km from Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve. I can’t say enough good things about this gem of a place. The decor, attention to detail, and general vibe of the Karoo Moon House was incredible. It was a real shame we couldn’t stay longer - it would have been a perfect long weekend. We also really appreciated the little extras that were provided in the house. We would come back to Barrydale just to stay here!

Really enjoyed our stay as the Host is super helpful and there immediately if you need anything. All the necessities were available. She went out of her way just to make sure our pups could not get out of the yard. It was also exactly as shown on Booking. So very happy.

Wonderful location, but the photos give the impression that you are quite alone. In fact, there is a house right next to you and you look out on several across the river. It has all the amenities that you may require even a gas and traditional braai, gas oven and stove and an array of cutlery, crockery, baking trays, etc to ensure that you can prepare whatever you wanted.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Huis Kandelabra offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. This cottage is a diamond in the Small Karoo. Ideally situated near Oudtshoorn between the koppies. Tranquil and peaceful. AnnMari is an excellent host. The cottage is equiped with everything you need and more. Very stylish with privacy for each room with its own bathroom. Gas stove works excellent and has also got a nice full fridge/freezer. Although near the road, we never felt unsave and traffic hardly bothered us. We were three ladies staying there for 11 nights. Only small negative was the, I assume, farm workers not far from there with their music. It was over Xmast and New Year, so we understood that as well. Was truly a beautiful experience and the atmosphere was fabtastic

Beds were comfy, showers were great, the home is huge, so big we only used half of it! We loved the lounge and dining and sat and ate outside too! Comfy couch, love love love!

Absolutely beautiful, away from citylife,loved the smell of paraffin lamps and the crickets in the background. Will for sure be back and please gas is enough! Best of all no electri ity to ecperience true Karoo life. No wifi here was the best for our souls.
